How good was The West Wing?

Never seen an episode but have only ever read good things, £34.99 for all 7 seasons on Play atm (and it's like 156 eps so mad moneys worth) so I'm looking to canvass some opinions

I :heart: The Sopranos, The Wire, Lost, Californication, Entourage, Oz, 24 and Bored to Death if that helps at all. Don't really like monster of the week stuff like CSI, Smallville etc.

Haven't finished the series yet. Been a bit slow with it I guess, but def some really amazing moments on what I've seen. Just watch a couple episodes and you can get the vibe pretty easy. Got to get back on it. Some good funny stuff and some good serious drama. Def deserves the hype.

Well I love everything I've seen that you've listed there and I'd rate The West Wing the 2nd best show I've ever seen behind The Wire. Buy it now thats outstanding value and it really is just brilliant. I'm nearly finished what must be my 4th or 5th rewatch of all 7 22 episode seasons so that should be an indication.

I loved it when I watched it the first time round, and the 2nd. But after awhile, I started to find it a bit preachy. but it still pne of the best programmes of the last 10 years.

Well you were all right, show is glorious. Gonna make a start on Season 5 tonight. I imagine if I actually knew jack shit about politics I'd put it on par with Lost/Wire/Sopranos. Pretty disgusted that Sam has fucked off though :(
