So I have a Bluetooth transmitter that came with my old Keyboard Mouse setup from Logitech. It worked okay, but I wanted to get a Class 1 Transmitter to have a better range, so I bought one that used Bluesoleil instead of Widcomm drivers. Well, as it turns out, Bluesoleil is every bit as terrible as I heard, and Windows' own BT stack doesn't deal in some of the profiles I use, like AVRCP. So I trash the Bluesoleil crap, re-install Widcomm, and go back to my old transmitter. Now, before I uninstalled thw Widcomm drivers, if I had only one media program open, I could control it with my Bluetooth headphones. This is useful for me, as I don't want to sit at my PC to enjoy music. I wander around my apartment, particularly at night, when my neighbours are most prone to bitch if I'm blasting music. Now, it only does so if it's the frontmost program on my screen. It's not the most insurmountable problem in the world, but something's changed. I googled it, and I'm not seeing much that's actually useful. I'm assuming there's an option somewhere that I am missing that was selected before, but if there is, I'm missing it (redundancy is redundant). Anyone got any clue what I'm talking about?
