So periodically, something goes wrong with TPWW WYSIWYG on my computer. I'm typing this message up using IEtab, and the editor works fine. However, in Firefox, it not only strips my ability to use the formatting, but it strips any normal formatting (I even have to insert paragraph breaks manually in HTML).

Recently, it's been significantly problematic in that it doesn't come and go. It's just been constant.

It's my PC only, to boot. My notebook is running the editor fine on this site, and while I've occasionally seen the problem there, too, it's working fine right now.

Also, I lose functionality like "multiquote," and such.

I thought it might be my extensions fo Firefox, but since I'm pretty much rocking the same extensions on both computers, it shouldn't theoretically be a problem. Or so I'd think. I completely uninstalled all instances of Java, because I thought that's what the editor relied on, and reinstalled it, and nothing.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

Did you update Firefox on your PC but not on your notebook? That is the only other explanation I can think of really.

WYSIWYG doesn't even work at all on the two browsers I use (Safari and Chrome). :(

They're both the latest version of Firefox. I checked for updates on both to make sure. Probably just going to break down and disable my remaining extensions one by one and see if that's what's causing shit. I just hate removing the functionalities I'm used to

Well, that wasn't it. With no extensions enabled, I'm STILL fucked.

Though I just checked the "error console" on Firefox and it brings up several related to TPWW, including Error: vB_Text_Editor is not defined Source File: http://tpww.net/forums/showthread.php?p=3039458#post3039458 Line: 1874

Odd. Just tried it on Firefox on both of my computers and it seems to be working fine on both.

This probably won't work but maybe try turning on the Basic Editor in the options and then switching it back to WYSIWYG?

Or open Firefox in Safe Mode and reset all the preferences to the system defaults.

Testing the first option. This should be a new line. Doubt it's working, though, since the formatting options are as useful as a door painted on a wallk.

So, like, it worked here. Then for a couple more posts. Then it stopped.

So I switched to Basic Editor or whatever, and I can't even use the coding options on the page. They're just pictures. Like, I have the smilies on the side, but they're not clickable. Same with the formatting up top.

I used to use a BBCode add-on for Firefox, so I'm using that to format my posts right now.

What I had done was a re-install of Firefox entirely. I thought that had work.

Opening the error console, I get several errors related to TPWW, such as:

Error: AJAX_Compatible is not defined

Error: vbmenu_register is not defined

Error: vB_Editor is not defined

Line: 8947

And so on...I don't know if any of that matters, but I've done like ten uninstall/reinstalls of Java, and nothing seems to work.

A couple of people seem to have a similar problem when "Googling" this but nobody seems to know why, or how to fix it.

Did you try to do the Firefox Safe mode reset to system defaults thing?
