View Full Version : Best of Diamond Dallas Page DVD?
Reading the Battle of the Themes DDP thread, it got me thinking... WWE owns all of WCW's old footage. They've been making some really great DVD's recently, and it's my opinion that if anyone from WCW's Monday night wars days deserves their own DVD, it's Diamond Dallas Page.
Firstly, does anyone ELSE think that DDP deserves his own anthology? I know a lot of people on here are probably too young to have been around during DDP's epic feuds with Macho Man Randy Savage, Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Raven, the Giant and the nWo. But for the rest of you who are aware of his past greatness, do you think the WWE would be willing to make a Best of DDP DVD? Or would they fear that their new, younger audience wouldn't give a shit?
And secondly, if they WERE to make a best of DDP DVD, what matches/segments would you want to see included?
Bang.

Don't know if they'd ever make one. Pretty much everything memorable and Awesome DDP did was in WCW. So I don't know if they'd see the market for it.

I'd definitely buy. Plus add some of his AWA promos with Badd Company.

A DDP DVD will happen over time.
I don't know if anytime soon, but it definitely will happen.
Page has enough to market a 3-disc set if they really wanted to; counting his AWA, NWA, Florida, WCW, WWF/E days and his mainstream appeal - there is more than enough to fill the discs and remain entertaining.

The material is there. But it's a question of whether the market would exist for it. I would think a Rise and Fall of the nWo would be a higher priority because they were bigger than Page and had a better stint in the WWE.

I really do see a market for a DDP DVD.
Page does tremendously well for himself, and remains a VERY busy and marketable guy who is seen and heard through many outlets nowadays. He also still has a very large fan base and is pretty much as popular now (not wrestling) as he was when he was doing all the stuff with Malone and Leno, etc.
As long as they left the 'Motivational Speaker' gimmick days off there I would buy it. They havent even seriously made an NWO DVD though, so DDP's chances would be very limited.

How did the best of Starcade DVD sell? I imagine that'd play a big part on any future WCW-heavy DVD producions.

They will do a DVD for almost every wrestler ever.

A DDP DVD would be cool, but it'll never happen.
And TBH I'd much rather see Chris Jericho or possibly Booker T get one first.

At one time DDP was one of the most over faces in the industry, i'd love that idea.
