I used to think he had unlimited potential...

I was listening to a shoot interview from Sunny a while back she says at one point "Carley doesn't really care all that much about the business hes just in it because of his father"

If that's the case as it seems to be why doesn't he just go do something else instead of wasting his and everyone elses time?

meh, Carlitos popularity goes up and down in waves around this place. I'm sure if half the rumours about him not wanting to be there were true they would have released him a long time ago.

I honestly think they keep Carlito around for two reasons:

a) He sells merchandise (wigs, toy apples, etc.)
b) He is perfect for PPV filler matches

I had really high hopes for Carlito in 2006. He was awesome in the Elimination Chamber at NYR and had a pretty good run for most of the year. Remember his match with Orton at Unforgiven?

Solid stuff. Really is a shame he isn't arsed.

I remember hearing a story that Carlos Colon (Carlito's Dad) once put a gun to Vince McMahon's head or mouth because McMahon tried to screw Colon out of some money when WWE was doing some sort of show in Puerto Rico that Colon helped promote or something like that.

Randy Orton would murder him if he didn't give 110% in a match with him.

Orton is super-motivated.

Is everyone so sure that Carlito isn't motivated? He's been on the roster for like six years now. That's a fair while for someone who really doesn't want to be there. There are reports that he has complained about his position in the company; but if I were working a program with Ric Flair, and I got bumped for useless Diva shit, I would be fairly pissed, too. Then they sort of did it again with the Mizorrison/Colons program.

To be honest, I think there is still a lot of love for Carlito in the company. They liked him enough to put him on NXT. He's also been showing up quite consistently on RAW lately. Primo, for example, a kid who does have a good attitude (according to reports), can't even get that far.

I believe he would have been given something to do if he was drafted back to smackdown. And he really needs to bring back them short tights

I don't think it's a case of 'he's not interested in wrestling', I think it's a case of 'he's fed up in WWE'.

Carlito is amazing. Seriously. The guy has unlimited charisma (which best shined when he debuted as Carlito Caribean Cool), and he has great ring skills. Considering how when he debuted he seemed a generic wrestler using basic moves, to his matches with he's flipping and flying all over the ring... the guy had the potential to be huge, but I think he's just fed up with WWE constantly pushing and depushing anyone who isn't Cena/Orton/Triple H/Batista etc.

Carlito is great, he just needs a purpose. Hes also been putting on some good matches on Superstars over the past month.

Didn't Carlito beat Cena for the US title?

Swiss Ultimate

Think so. Was that Cena's first face-turn?

Didn't Carlito beat Cena for the US title?

That was in his debut match on SD, and he was a major heel because of that. He used the ropes for a quick cover.

I hate when guys win titles right way, but jeez. It's hard to believe that he went from beating Cena to...not.

Who cares how he did it the point is he beat John Cena

I'm just wondering at what point did he derail so badly, although I still think he could do big things if they give him the chance his character needs tweaking though.

It was US Champ John Cena, not Hustle Loyalty Respect John Cena, to be fair.

So? The point remains, Carlito got completely deflated while Cena got overblown. It just strikes me as weird.

Carlito also won the IC Title upon his RAW Debut. Going back to Carlito beating Cena, didn't Jesus stab Cena or something

He also used Cena's then-trademark padlock-chain necklace by wrapping it around his hand to deliver the knock-out blow to Cena when the ref wasn't able to see it, which is how he ultimately scored the pin.
