Was the Hardcore Title REALLY the title Perfect and Genius destroyed?

I've always heard this, and in kayfabe, while it's never actually said, I think it's reasonable to assume that it is. But was it the actual belt that they destroyed or another?

That's just a rumour.

The Hardcore Championship was actually just a replica belt of the "Winged Eagle" WWF Championship which was then smashed to pieces and put back together using duct tape and glue.

Nah just a rumor. The real belt was sold on eBay a couple years ago by some old official who had picked up the pieces after the segment was over.
