From PWInsider:
In India, they truly love The Great Khali.
According to an article in the Hindustan Times, the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in India was vandalized when Khali did not make an advertised appearance at a charity wrestling event, "War of the Champions." The wrestling ring, a big screen and other property in the stadium were vandalized and fans fought with "bouncers" at the event. No police were present.
The promoters of the event claimed that Khali no showed due to a contracted appearance for a sports channel, whole reps for Khali claimed that the promoters were informed 10 days ago he couldn't make the date. Khali's reps also claimed to have returned the money he had been paid for the event, but the promoters continued to advertise him for "reasons best known to them."
Tickets to the event carried Khali's picture.
