1. Kofi Kingston defeated Christian to win the Intercontinental Title. This match alone will make Friday’s show worth watching. The crowd was into it the whole time. Kofi won with Trouble in Paradise.

After the match, Drew McIntyre came out and handed a letter to Teddy Long. After reading the letter, Teddy asked Kofi for the title. Kofi initially refused to give it to him, but eventually gave in. Teddy gave the title belt back to McIntyre, who was pretty much booed out of the building. They wasted a great match. Kofi stood in the ring fuming after Drew left for a couple minutes before leaving.

After commercial, Matt Striker read the letter and was booed completely. Everyone is pissed over this. WWE did a great job generating heat.

2. Shad Gaspard beat a local wrestler. Total squash match that went on longer than it should have. The crowd was pretty dead for it until the end. Shad got more cheers than heat, which is not good if they want him to be a monster heel.

Letter Update: The letter that McIntyre presented to Long stated that Teddy is irresponsible and abused his power. It also stated that McIntyre is a gentleman who signifies what the future of WWE is. Per the letter, McIntyre is reinstated to the active roster and is once again recognized as the Intercontinental Champion. It was signed by Vince McMahon.

3. MVP and JTG beat The Dudebusters. The crowd was behind JTG and MVP. They had no idea of who the Dudebusters were. MVP and JTG won when MVP hit what seems to be a new finisher.

After tag match they showed the Straight Edge Society. Punk preached about how he saw doubt in them and that they weren’t coming to ringside for his match against Rey Mysterio tonight.

Crew members set up Jack Swaggers trophies.

Swagger came out for his presentations of his trophies. He delivered a long promo that was actually pretty good. He gained a lot of heat from it, booed constantly.

The Big Show came out and was cheered incredibly. The crowd was into Big Show big time and kept booing swagger. Show proceeded to touch and break swaggers trophies. Swagger tried to attack Show, but was thrown out of the ring. Show went on to smash all of the trophies while Swagger watched from outside of the ring. Show then punted swaggers football into the crowd After destroying everything, Show posed with the World Title as Swagger flipped out on the outside.

They continued to hype Rey Mysterio vs. C.M. Punk.

Teddy Long came out and announced Show vs. Swagger for the World Hvt. Championship, which will probably be the dark match.

Beth Phoenix vs. Rosa Mendes was up next. The hometown girl returned (Beth Phoenix) and received the biggest pop of the night and a standing ovation. Before the match, Vickie Guerrero came out and introduced herself as the general manager of Raw and told Rosa to leave the ring. She said Michelle McCool has invoked her rematch clause and for the first time ever the women’s title will be defended in a 2 on 1 handicap match. Beth vs leycool.

4. Michelle McCool and Layla defeated Beth Phoenix, so McCool won the WWE Women’s Championship. During the match, a “Let’s Go Buffalo” chant broke out in support of Beth. Beth was selling the knee injury and had a brace on it. I can’t remember the last time I saw the crowd this into a women’s title match.

The match ended when McCool and Beth butted heads. After Michelle rolled out of the ring, Layla made the cover. The winner and new women’s champion is Michelle McCool. After the match, they mocked Beth as she sold the knee heavily and received a standing ovation as she was helped off.

5. Kane defeated Chavo Guerrero. Chavo put up a fight at first, then kane ended it with a chokeslam. Predictable match.

They again hyped rey vs punk for later tonight

They showed Teddy and Drew. Teddy told Drew that next week it will be McIntyre vs. Big Show.

6. Rey Mysterio beat C.M. Punk by DQ. Another great match. Rey hit the 619 and then the masked guy came out from under the ring to attack him for the DQ. After the match, the SES posed in the ring, with the masked guy to close the show.

Eh.

I beg to differ. Sounds like a pretty well built show to me.

I like that most of the talent booked on the show seems to have a sense of direction with where there characters are going.

The seeds for a Kolfi/McIntyre fued seem to have been planted. I wonder where Christian will go from here?

Also, my only complaint is to give both MVP and JTG something meaningful to do. Especially MVP. He's a good talent and there's a great oppurtunity to build him back up and make him a stronger character than he was when he left SD!.

All in all, can't wait to watch the show.

Yeah, seems like Drew got some serious heat here and I personally didn't see it coming at all. Christian seems to be left without a match this month..maybe he can have a little grudge match with Ziggler at the PPV just to get their faces on the show.

I was wondering where this IC Title angle was going, and I guessed this as one of the possibilities. After a hard fought match, the face wins the title, but then it turns out to all be null and void as Drew McIntyre pulls some strings to return as the "rightful" Intercontinental Champion. Beautiful. It gets so much heat on McIntyre, gets the fans right into Kofi, and builds up an actual program over the IC Title. I think we can fully expect to see Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston at Over the Limit, and people actually caring.

Part of me was hoping that The Straight-Edge Society (including the masked man) would team up to face Rey Mysterio, MVP & JTG (holding off the blow-off for the Rey/Punk feud) at Over the Limit, but I'm exciting for Rey vs. Punk. Maybe we could still see an MVP/JTG vs. Luke Gallows & Joey Mercury match added? Or maybe Shad can find his way in there to team up with Gallows. I'd like to see MVP and JTG make the PPV so they do not get forgotten.

<font color=goldenrod>I'd love to see Drew keep doing this. Every loss in his record is expunged by Mr. McMahon and he pretty much can't lose the title. I would LOVE to see the heat he gets if he wins the World Heavyweight Title in this fashion.</font>

The Big Show turning face is interesting.

He can play both roles real well. I just wish that he'd get in better shape in the chest area.

I mean, who wants to see a fat bald guy every week and root him on? And no, Stone Cold wasn't fat so that doesn't count!

It looks to me that Vince McMahon is planning his return to TV.

I'm interested in how it will play out as The Rock is rumored to return later this summer.

Kofi & Christian as a Tag Team? That'd be interesting.

Big Show is getting epic cheers. Granted, Swagger is getting epic heat, which might push those cheers for Show further, but I think knocking out The Miz, Chris Jericho & Edge has helped Show. He's also looked awesome on SmackDown!. Him telling Swagger to plan for "early retirement" before knocking him out was a great moment.

I hope they have Kofi Kingston win the IC Title at Over the Limit, only for McMahon to reverse the decision. Something like that will make it so incredibly meaningful when Kofi actually does win his official second Intercontinental Title.

* A really, really great show. The opening contest was really fun, and I marked out for how Theodore Long introduced the concept of the match to people. It added a aura of class to the proceedings. Drew McIntyre looked really, really awesome in a white suit jacket, too.

* Jack Swagger is incredible. His promo was absolutely hilarious. His cheesy smile, the way he stares into space, the commercial breaks they've been going to while Swagger is still rambling. Big Show has also been on his game during this feud. I actually want to see their match over the World Heavyweight Title, which is something. But yeah, Swagger is just awesome. Matt Striker also helped during their segment.

Swagger: Where was I?

Striker (in a swoony tone): Being awesome, Jack.

* Just a correction: Layla was actually announced as the new WWE Women's Champion. Michelle McCool looked happy that Layla won, although I'm not sure where they go now that Beth Phoenix is injured. Maybe AJ Lee gets called up? Layla has been improving, and is fucking hot, so I don't have too much of a problem with this.

* CM Punk is also incredible. Luke Gallows is pretty funny, too. The way he apologies to CM Punk during their backstage segment cracked me up. Punk and Mysterio actually have a pretty good showing until the DQ ending, and the aftermath of the match is perfect CM Punk creepiness. Masked Man and Gallows picked Rey up and placed him on a kneeling Punk's shoulders for the GTS, and then Punk got one arm of Mysterio's, placed it over Mysterio's heart, and then raised the other in the air as the other three members of the SES did the same, and Punk started to make the Straight-Edge Pledge.

Agreed.

Swagger's promos are hilariously awesome.

I loved when he spoke about "The Swaggie" and also when he said "You know growing up in Perry, Oklahoma, It was almost like greatness was my neighbour and success was my best friend. Oh, and we hung out....alot."

Loved the Swagger segments, he seems like he has his own little version of giving ridiculous nicknames out and it's brilliant ("Hey Santa Claus!").
