Guys,

With a mere 7 days until UFC 114, what do you think about Evans/Jackson? There's been a ton of shit exchanged between these two. I know I can't be the only one excited to watch this fight. What do you guys expect? Poll forthcoming

While it's tough to decide, I'm gonna give the nod to Sugar. The guys a better athlete, and may be able to out point Rampage. I won't be mad at either outcome, but I have this sneaky feeling that he'll catch page slipping

I reckon 'Page wins convincingly. 'Shad didnt look that great against Alves and got shook, as long as Jacksons got his conditioning he'll pound him to mush.

heart says rampage, head says Rashad. But, i will say this...is little ass Lyota can knock Rashad out, Rampage should have no problem

You know, I thought the same thing Alvarado, then I looked at some of Little ass Lyoto's fights. The dude is sick, and accurate. He trains with wit Anderson Silva...He has to be the goods standing up. I don't trust Rampage when the shit hits the fan. When he gets his jaw socked, and when he knows he is in a fucking war, will he bitch up like he did against Rua? Or will he be the King Kond 'Page that we want him to be?

I think you mean T. Silva, not Alvez.

Yes, Rashad did get rocked in the 3rd. But aside from that, saying he didn't look that great against Silva is kind of like saying GSP didn't look too good against Hardy - kind of. And it also implies that Silva is a slouch.

I would like to see more effective GnP from Rashad, for sure, but vs. Silva, he basically made another top 10 fighter and BJJ blackbelt look as though he had not much more than "a puncher's chance."

He did say he was unhappy with the UFC already.

Yeah - he is my favorite. Followed by Rampage coinsidently.

But I don't think I'm delusional with what I say in his defense, and I really just never understood all the hate...or the lack of respect. That's not to say that anyone in this thread has been hatin'.

Isn't there a guy you didn't like regardless of how skilled he is? I'm not a big fan of Kobe but I can acknowledge his skills and how good he is. I'm not a fan of Rashad but I can acknowledge his skills as well. He didn't get to 14-0 or whatever for no reason. Rampage has skills too but he's a very like-able guy.

the answer to your question is yes. Josh Neer. i dont like that guy. it could be all a misconception in my own mind, but he comes off like a guy who goes around looking for bar fights when he's not in the Octagon. guy just seems like a dick. also, ever since Bisping failed to do the right thing and renounce his dicision win over Matt Hammill, i pretty much root for whoever his opponent is.

with Rashad though, it just seems almost like rooting against and hating on the Little Engine That Could. he came into TUF 2 a heavy underdog. i became a fan of his when he beat up Mike Whitehead. he got picked for just about every fight, because everyone thought he was the weakest link. he gets his ass chewed by Matt Hughes, the most dominant welterweight in history at the time - stood his ground. and he goes on to beat everyone put in front of him. and i really never saw the whole "shit-talking angle" as above and beyond anybody else - especially Rampage. i swear, it's like people never got past Matt Hughes not liking him in his first performance, and have kept that mindset in spite of everything else.

no doubt Machida is a more accurate striker than Rampage, and also more composed...but i believe Rashad's chin is suspect, and if he doesnt cover well, he will feel Rampage's power, regardless of defense. Rashad needs to stay mobile and hit the ground to win.

Pretty crazy how much skill and respect i have for Rashad now. When he first started out (TUF, UFC) he looked like little more than a showboater who did what he had to do to survive, and not much else. Now, he's a threat to end you, not just to dodge you and win by points.

Rampage is a Nigga (I can say it....YOU ALL CANT) I'm quite sure that he can go from zero to dick in no time.

I learned a long while ago not to bet against Rashad Evans. I won't be doing it anytime soon.

You sir are a smart man, and you will be able to smile with confidence after Suga makes more believers this weekend!

Im a little torn on who really to pick....

I know that rashad's camp will come up with a good gameplan, however in his last two fights, rashad hasnt followed his gameplan the whole fight very well, and in this fight, it will be harder for him to do that than ever with the personal beef between him and rampage. From interviews i read with greg jackson, he said rashad didnt do what they planned against machida, and rashad broke from the gameplan against thiago in the third round which almost got him beat. He also gassed himself out trying to take down the bigger fighter in thiago. Thats another thing that worries me about rashad, is that he IS an undersized light heavyweight. And while it was a long time ago, rashad had trouble keeping bisbing on the ground, so it will be interesting to see what rashad can do to keep rampage on the ground.

Rampage's biggest problem is that he fights like hes two different people. He will dominate his opponent in one fight, then come out and do next to nothing in the next. I suppose if you look at the pattern hes in, he due to destroy rashad but hes been out for over a year. If rampage is aggressive and fights like he wants to win (which i cant see him not doing with all the talk) then I cant see him not knocking out rashad. Thinking of it, when rampage has had any beef or something to prove against a fighter, he has killed them (liddel, silva). Hes bigger and stronger, but hes not mentally tough, and if rashad plays it right, he could fuck with rampage's head.

All in all I think this fight comes down to rashad's ability to implement and follow a good gameplan. If he deviates from it for one second, he could end up asleep.

nicely put Reav. I agree that Shad is the key whether he wins/loses.

I'd like to see Rampage win, but Rashad will probably pull it out
