I hope it's every bit as lackluster as the first.

The reply's to this aren't all that surprising. The DBZ franchise (at least here in the states) was a pioneering anime, back in the 90s. Nowadays it seems that the only time it comes into discussion is when it's being ridiculed by "mainstream" fans. But hey, to each his own. I am actually on the fence over how to feel about this latest in the DBZ video games. On the one hand I'm elated, being a fan of the old school it's always nice to see it getting re-polished, I mean the graphics and combat engine look stunning. With that said, I believe this series peaked with Budokai 3, I think now all their doing is trying to cash in on the recent release of DBZ Kai. Still, I'll probably pick this up when I get the chance.

Actually, my reply (replies is the plural, by the way) had more to do with the amazingly poor rating the prior game got. Game Rankings has an overall score of 58% for the 360 version.

So you're judging it on a rating and not by playing it?

Actually the first Raging Blast was lackluster, and I played it looking for redeeming qualities. Tenkaichi 3 seems to be the peak of the engine, hopefully Raging Blast 2 looks to Tenkaichi 3 to fix the incomplete combat system of RB1.

I cannot take a game seriously that is called "Raging Blast." I mean, come on.

You can dismiss a game under whatever basis you find important. This your right.

I'll buy it and play it a couple times, then have it sit with Tenkaichi 1-3, Infinite World and Raging Blast, I'd have them all but traded in Budokai 2 and 3, never owned 1.

This. Short of rereleasing it with the maybe 5 characters missing from the entire god damn anime franchise, there is fuck all reason to keep making new games.

Also, how disgusting is it that Tenkaichi 3 had 450723568923745689 characters and Raging Blast had you buying pack after pack to get them all? Gay ass cash grab. BTW, I have no personal interest in these games (Tenkaichi 3 is cool to watch others play, but that's as far as it goes for me), just a rage-fueled need to point out the blatant cash grabbing.

I agree it sounds really gay.

If I am going to play a lackluster anime game, it's going to be Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. I know graphics aren't everything, but considering how gorgeous UNS is, I'm finding it hard to get excited for this.

UNS2 is amazing. Blows RB2 out da water. Unless they come to their senses about the Tenkaichi engine, I don't see myself playing RB2 as much as Tenkaichi 2/3. And the return to Budokai's graphic style rubbed the wrong way. Anime games 101 states you must have cel-shaded graphics by default. God dammit.

Seriously, it looks like budokai 1 with current gen lighting effects. Awful.
