With his shoulder quickly recovering from surgery that forced him out of a showdown with UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort will immediately challenge for the title when he returns to the Octagon this fall.
After successfully defending the belt against replacement Demian Maia at UFC 112, Silva will take on Chael Sonnen at UFC 117 in August, and the winner will then face Belfort in a matchup currently targeted for November.
Belfort (19-8) returned to the UFC for the first time in four years when he scored a knockout over Rich Franklin in a bout that headlined UFC 103.
I'm excited. I hope Silva beats Sonnen so we can see Silva vs. Belfort, who's the man to dethrone Silva IMO. If Belfort can't beat Silva, there's no middleweight that can.
