LAS VEGAS -- The long-awaited grudge match between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/Rampage+Jackson/) and Rashad Evans (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/Rashad+Evans+/)drew the largest crowd the UFC's ever drawn in its home city, as a sellout of 15,081 filed into the MGM Grand Garden Arena to see Evans upset Jackson via unanimous decision at UFC 114 (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/UFC+114/).

The gate was $3.895 million, according to UFC President Dana White.

The headliners were, not surprisingly, the big earners for the night, as Evans walked away with $435,000 ($250,000 purse, $185,000 win bonus) and Jackson took home $250,000 for the loss. Those figures do not include other additional bonuses or pay-per-view percentage points, which some stars negotiate into their UFC deals.

Here is the rest of the salary information for the event, which was obtained from the Nevada state athletic commission:

• Michael Bisping ($175,000 salary, $15,000 win bonus) def. Dan Miller ($15,000)

• Mike Russow ($12,000/$12,000) def. Todd Duffee ($8,000)

• Antonio Rogerio Nogueira ($80,000/$40,000) def. Jason Brilz ($11,000)

• John Hathaway ($11,000/$11,000) def. Diego Sanchez ($50,000)

• Dong Hyun Kim ($32,000/$32,000) def. Amir Sadollah ($15,000)

• Efrain Escudero ($15,000/$15,000) def. Dan Lauzon ($15,000)

• Melvin Guillard ($19,000/$19,000) def. Waylon Lowe ($6,000)

• Cyrille Diabate ($6,000/$6,000) def. Luiz Cane ($19,000)

• Aaron Riley ($10,000/$10,000) def. Joe Brammer ($5,000)

• Ryan Jensen ($8,000/$8,000) def. Jesse Forbes ($6,000)

Nightly Awards

• Fight of the Night: Jason Brilz vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira ($65,000 each)

• Knockout of the Night: Mike Russow ($65,000)

• Submission of the Night: Ryan Jensen ($65,000)

A quarter mil, for 18 minutes of fighting...not bad, Now I wonder what that figure jumps to after you add in endorsements and the like.

Probably at least $1m. I can't stand the people who whine about how these guys don't make any money.

Technically put in all that time and effort for training. It seems sometimes the training is much harder and worse than stepping into the cage for less than half an hour and maybe getting a few punches and kicks.

Did you bother reading the pay scale after the headliners? Even for Evans and Jackson, who are the soul reason this PPV will do close to a million buys, and certainly better than there average PPV, it's nothing. UFC makes 4-5 million on the gate alone, throw in another about 40 million from PPV, not to mention UFC's sponsors, and advertisers, and yeah, I'd say there pay is rather low.

The 'Kai would.

That thread is about a guy who was eating ketchup and rice before he had a huge win and $120k fight bonuses. If not for said bonuses, he would have made 17k for the win.

I wasn't complaining about the Bisping's or the Shad's or the Rampages. I was bitching more about the likes of a Cyrille Diabate, who only made 16k in a winning effort.

Now, I thought most of these guys also get endorsement deals...Even the Lower card guys also shit plastered all over their shorts. There's gotta be some extra on top of the show bonuses, which is all that UFC reports.

Q: What is the minimum salary of a Major Leaguer?
A: The minimum salary for the 2009 season is $400,000.

That's the guaranteed pay for a guy riding the pine for Major League baseball.
