I read Storm Front, the first book in the series a few months ago and really enjoyed it. Just started watching the TV series and have found it to be pretty entertaining despite not being as good as the book.

Huge fan of Jim Butcher. The TV show is okay, but I'd rather have the books. Which I do.
Fool Moon is, in my estimation, the worst of the books. It also happens to be book 2. But it does have the side effect of fleshing out Marcone....

LOL, I gave my copy of book 2 to my mother-in-law before I had a chance to read it.
The TV series could be a lot worse of course, though I'm sad it's not as complex or gritty as the books.

Especially when you consider the pilot was called, you know, Storm Front and used the same plot as the first book.
Well, used something that resembles the same plot.
However, I want a magic hockey stick.

Which is correct. It was filmed as the pilot and then aired as a later episode. They either didn't have Bob cast at the time or the actor couldn't make it, as he only appears in a flashback from a later/earlier episode and a voiceover or two. I think it's actually cut down, too, though I seem to recall the DVD version may be the full version. Or not. It's been a while since I watched it.
Though I like Mann as Bob, I wish they had kept with the original motif (Both backstory and visually).
anyway, something similar happened to the first episode for Firefly, in the sense it was aired like third or fourth.
I'm torn on the cancellation of the show. On the one hand, it was likely to go even further away from the plot of the books, but on the other, I was curious how they were going to deal with some of the other characters Dresden has as regulars in the book series. Mostly, Thomas (I think he debuts in book three) and a couple of Harry's nemeses, who I won't mention because technically they fall under "spoilers."
