I don't dislike him, but... Has he ever really entertained anyone? I never saw him as anything worth watching.

Loved looking at the ho's, but was pretty indifferent to the GFather.
His random appearances post 2005 were interesting.
I enjoyed him during the Nation of Domination reign. But that was probably more to do with The Rock than anything specifically attributed to the Godfather.

I think you mean the "Goodfather."

But seriously, is anyone gonna make a joke about AL not liking a guy whose entire gimmick was selling pussy?

I'm not even referencing his gimmick. Just him. I seem to recall him being remarkably bland, and without a flashy gimmick like he had, I don't think anyone would ever remember him.

He was ok at times but also abit pointless.

I remember once RTC ended immediately thinking that he was doomed, and that of course turned out to be the case. They reverted him back to his old gimmick right away and he was quickly future endeavored.

Most of the current roster probably wish they were over half as much as The Godfather was.

Especially since they're twice as forgettable.

I did not care for The Godfather. He insists upon himself.

He was what you would expect in-ring wise. The Godfather worked well in the time period, but once that "era" in society was over there wasn't much to do with him.

Papa Shango was a better gimmick than the "Pimp" one.
Foley summed him up nicely I'm paraphrasing here " a really good guy but a black hole of charisma" he was so boring in the ring it was maddening.

Papa Shango scared me legit when I was a kid. I wonder how they'd adapt that gimmick to get over these days?

That was in my head as I asked. But The Boogeyman was awful.

pretty much every "ridiculous" gimmick they have now, save for The Undertaker, is comedy related. Goldust, Khali, Hornswoggle, ect. A "Voodoo" related gimmick would quickly become fodder for comedy vignettes with < insert guest host here >.

And 'Taker's only safe because he's been around for 40 years and is an icon.
Him and D'Lo were cool.
Had some chant-able catchphrases as well, so probably as entertaining as a lower mid-carder can be TBF.

And a couple of his "ladies" were passable. You know, for post-ops.

I remember when Papa Shango made the Ultimate Warrior throw up. I got legit scared and stopped watching wrestling for a few years because I was a cowardly kid.

I think they should give MVP his gimmick, it would really work and MVP can finally be over with the fans and it would keep MVP's "player" character going as well

Why did they end the Shango thing? I don't remember anything about it, but it seems it should have done heaps better than pimping.
And yes, I long for the day when MVP is finally over with the fans.

The Supreme Fighting Machine was a better gimmick than the "Pimp" one.
One of the only real memory that I have of the "Godfather" was his comeback at the Royal Rumble. He gets a huge response from the crowd, brings out row after row of ladies, gets talked up by JR and the King.... and last about a minute in the ring.

Papa Shango was fun, "Supreme Fighting Machine" Kama was cool when he stole Undertaker's urn & turned it into his bling, but The Godfather is gonna be damned to hell for unleashing this god-awful song on the world -

To be fair, that was the Aggression remix, right? Pretty sure you can't blame that on Godfather.

At Wrestlemania 2000 it took Godfather & D'lo about 10 minutes to get to the ring cuz they were dancing with Ice-T, & they got their asses kicked in about 5 by Bossman & Bull Buchanan
Speaking of Godfather & Bull....

I wish WWE would bring him back or give his gimmick to some1 else but I guess in PG WWE this wouldnt work which sucks cause its a waste of a GOLD gimmick imo
