View Full Version : Majority of Jeff Hardy's charges dropped
From PWInsider:
A representative of the Moore County Superior Court confirmed to PWInsider.com earlier today that three of the four charges against TNA star Jeff Hardy were dropped earlier this week by prosecutors.
Hardy had a hearing earlier this week, the morning of 6/3.
A Moore County representatives confirmed the following charges against Hardy were officially dropped at that hearing.
*Felony drug trafficking, Two felony charges of possession of a Schedule III controlled substance or drug.
*Felony possession of cocaine, Felony maintaining a dwelling for redistribution of controlled substances.
*Misdemeanor Possession of drug paraphernalia.
Those were the charges brought against Hardy when he was arrested following a raid of his home in September 2009. The Moore County Courthouse would not confirm the charges being dropped until today. Last week, they refused comment citing that Superior Court was still in session at the time of the request.
The Moore County representative declined to comment on why the charges were dropped, but suggested PWInsider.com contact the District Attorney's office. That office did not return messages requesting comment left earlier today.
Considering the most serious charges against the former WWE World champion have been dropped, one can assume Hardy's defense was able to provide considerable doubt as to their veracity.
The only currently remaining charge against Hardy at this time, Conspiracy to Traffic Opium, was added by prosecutors in January 2010. Hardy is next set to go before the court on Tuesday 7/6.

Is it really trafficing if you're intending to do all the drugs yourself?

I can't wait until Matt Hardy tweets about this
lol there is nothing he can possibly say to make this sound good.
I knew this was going to happen. Jeff Hardy's lawyer is very good and has mastered the highly complicated but effective method known as "The Chewbacca Defense."
Too much South Park? Still, I hate to see his sorry ass get scot-free off these charges.

Too much South Park is redundant. Anyway, he'll be back in front of a judge in two months for new charges.

So with 3 of 4 charges dropped, how much time can he still spend in prison for that 1 charge?

If he's got three fourths of the charges dropped. He will plea and get no jail time. THe Prosecutors already have neough egg on their faces. They will salvage what they can and offer/negotiate a misdemeanor plea to get some type of victory. Hardy can't have THAT much money to throw at a lawyer.

It's rather obvious that Jeff Hardy will be back in the WWE after November.
So either Matt Hardy goes to TNA soon for 6 months of work, or he keeps being loopy in WWE to throw his fans off and create controversy.

Why would u guys wish jail time on somebody u dont know. Like I dont know Jeff Hardy and I dunno if he did what he did or not. I doubt he was selling drugs since he works in the WWE when would and why would he be selling drugs? makes no sense. And as far as him using them thats his call yo, I know its against the law but I dont think he should be punished for using drugs since he isnt hurting nobody except maybe himself but who knows really.
And as far as ppl getting mad that Jeff is getting charges dropped cause he got a good lawyer cause he has money well guess what thats not jeffs fault. Yeah a regular guy busted with these charges wouldnt be able to drop them but thats the system's problem not jeffs and none of us know what kind of man jeff is and from what I seen he looks like a good guy who just has some trouble.
I hope his last charge gets dropped cause he is awesome in TNA so far. I tuned it to watch Matt Morgan and Rob Terry but Jeff is now my 3rd reason to watch tna.

Good for Jeff, I'm glad.
Yeah, I'm glad that actions which will likely faciliatate further drug abuse happened. Maybe he'll get a real lucky break and OD.
Excellent news. I'm looking forward to some of his future work.

Jeff Hardy lived in a double wide before his trailer burned down a year or so ago.
So the whole having a lot of money and paying for a good lawyer is hogwash... He just actually got a lawyer and displayed the facts.. It's been pretty obvious that someone tried setting him up.
He has maintained this since the beginning..
If someone dropped some drugs on my door and called the cops, then I'd be arrested too.
He is making SHIT for money in TNA but it's practically like a vacation for him so it doesn't matter.
He's just in TNA to keep his fanbase somewhat happy and his name popular, not to mention, staying in shape and getting a paycheck..
You bet your ass that once the case is over and November comes around, he will be back in the WWE.

That's his choice to make. He could use all the drugs he wants, but if he's dumb enough to OD than that's on him. There's nothing wrong with drug use, only drug abuse. Once drugs start getting in the way of your regular duties, then you might have a problem. Other than that, if he wants to just chill, get all doped up and watch a movie- that is his call.
I simply don't agree with locking someone up for their personal choices in what they consume or use in their own homes.
As for him selling drugs, I don't buy it. He should have enough income to avoid dealing with type of bullshit. Usually if you have a lot of drugs on you, they just charge you with an intent to sell.

CONFIRMED:
Charges brought against Jeff Hardy have in fact NOT been dropped but that all 4 pending charges have NOT been heard before the Moore County Superior Court Judge, but in fact that the proceedings have been re-scheduled for a early July 2010 hearing as the judge was not available for court proceeding to hear information and evidence presented by the prosecution. Representatives from both the Moore County Sheriff's Dept and the Moore County Prosecutor's office CONFIRMED that all 4 charges are still currently pending and Moore County Prosecutor's stated that another charge is pending and a 5th charge will be instituted at the July hearing, but declined to further comment on what the charge is and the specific nature on how the charge was added.
Guess Ryan "TPDUB's Most Hated" Clark will learn next time he rips and copies news off another site before confriming its validity or strength of the resource.
