If you could of have had this match any year which year year would you have booked this match? I would have loved to see this match at Wrestlemania 19 at Seattle and then at Wrestlemania 22 at Montreal. Imagine the heat Michaels would get and imagine the love The Rock would get? Michaels was an awesome heel in 2005 and if he carried it on till Wrestlemania 22 and it happened in Montreal. Would have been a legendary moment. So mine is 2003-2006.
Thoughts?
It already happened here on TPWW.net and it was one of the biggest disgraces in the history of professional wrestling.

If Rock was to return around 2008-2010 he would have most likely have had a match with Cena most likely than HBK.

Oh yeah? Well if Bret Hart was to return he'd... Oh yeah... :shifty:

Well, it probably would have been great in 2000 or 2001, but Michaels wasn't around then.
But then Rock wasn't around during the height of Michaels second run, so if it's being fantasy booked I suppose ignoring those things is okay?
I definitely wouldn't book it before Michaels hiatus, because Rock wasn't a main eventer yet.
I wouldn't book it now, or in the past few years, just because of a few factors.
I also don't think I'd book it between 1999-2002, because even though it would be an off the chain fued and match, it would sort of be standard back then and not as much of a dream match.
Here's how I see it. I would definitely book it at a Wrestlemania.
I wouldn't book it at 19 because Michaels/Jericho and Rock/Austin were perfect.
I wouldn't book it at Wrestlemania 21, because of Michaels/Angle.
I wouldn't book it at Wrestlemania 24 because of Michaels/Flair.
I wouldn't book it at Wrestlemania 25 or 26 because of Michaels/Taker
So it's between Wrestlemania 20, 22, and 23. Wrestlemania 23 probably would have benefited the most from it as an event, but the crowd might not have been as hot and it was nice to see Michaels in the WWE title match one last time.
In MSG at 20 would be pretty wild, but that card had so many dream matches it wouldn't be as stand out.
I'm going to say 22. The McMahon match was great, but it could wait for another year or event.
Rock vs Michaels at Wrestlemania 22 in Chicago, in 2006. Hot crowd, epic match.

Also, Wrestlemania 22 was in Chicago, not Montreal.

Oh word. Yea, I'd still have it in a place like Chicago or New York, with a hot crowd but no problems with either guy.
That's because I'd have it as a face vs face fued, so the crowd could really get behind both guys at different points and really feed into the match. Both guys really thrive off that.
I feel like the crowd thinking about Shawn-Bret the whole time and basing their support and reactions on that would take away from it.

this may sound mark-ish but would you book it in the future? HBK wants one more match somewhere down the line, and The Rock finally returns after "Tooth Fairy 4: Seriously" ruins his career?
Or would you spend an HBK "one-more-time" match on someone else?

Definitely someone else.

HBK wants one more match somewhere down the line,
Who said this? I'm pretty sure that he leveled with the fans and said he would do everything in his power to keep that from happening, and that he wanted his retirement to be final.
I believe that was a "What If" scenario Jeri.

Yea my bad. Read that wrong.
WrestleMania XIX in Seattle. Jericho could've faced somebody else and Austin was so hurt he probably shouldn't have wrestled that night. HBK vs. The Rock in Seattle.

If it were up to me I would have booked this match for WM17.

Austin/Rock was the biggest main event in the WWE's history......

It'd been done once already and could have just as easily been done for SummerSlam.

Yes. But at
Wrestlemania 15:
Rock was still not that established star
Austin was injured a lot more than he was in 01
It was a Russo type brawl
Rock/Austin were HUGE in 2001.

Highly beg to differ on that statement right there he was the 2nd biggest face before he became The Corporate Champion and they'd already had a big IC feud not that long before that.

He was no way as big as he way in 2000-2001. Rock/Austin - X7 is the biggest main event EVER with Andre/Hogan rivaling it.

WrestleMania 24 would have been perfect, and considering that Flair hasn't stayed retired since that match, I'd be fine with Michaels/Flair never happening (or possibly happening at a non-WM PPV). Rock was back in 2008 anyway for the Hall of Fame and the whole WrestleMania 24 atmosphere, feel and look seems like the perfect setting to me for a Rock vs HBK match.

True. Perhaps you could also re-align the card to have Flair in a "retirement" match against HHH instead, and Cena/Orton could be 1 on 1.

Yeah, one reason I didn't go with WrestleMania 22 was that I would want the match to be in front of a stadium crowd. Also, 2008 was probably the best time for it. 2006 seemed like the WWE was still desperately clinging on to the Attitude Era, but by 2008 they were past it. HBK was a bigger legend and it would have been four years since Rock's last match. NOW, it's too late.
