I was bored and was actually looking for "Mr. Hole in One" Barry Darsow vids and I came across this one where he teamed with John Nord. Basically it's The Bezerker and Demolition Smash under there real names just playing the mean bully ring vets. I always loved watching "Loudmouth" Barry Darsow on Worldwide and when you take the cheezy gimmicks away from Nord he isnt that bad in the ring. What are some other seemingly random pairings that ended up working really well together? I'm also gonna throw out there Owen and Yokozuna or Jeff Jerrett. I've read that Owen just had that kinda personality that he could work well in the ring with pretty much anyone.

I don't know if you just mean tag teams, but two guys as opponents that have good chemistry together is Rey Mysterio and JBL. Some of JBL's best matches were against Rey.

I was surprised how good Booker T and Goldust turned out to be, I mean Booker T wasnt really a comedy man back then and Goldust was a jobber but together they was gold/

CSL beat me to it. New Age Outlaws are the definition of this. They were both past due for future endeavors, and they were totally thrown together as a last ditch effort and somehow they turned into the biggest tag team, and two of the biggest stars, from the biggest period of professional wrestling.

Rock 'n Sock comes to mind.

Headcheese, as mentioned earlier.

Kurt Angle and ...just about anyone Kurt's ever teamed up with?

Kane and RVD/Hurricane Helms both come to mind.

Not a tagteam, but Super Crazy and Chris Masters worked some of the best matches of... err... Chris Masters' career.

WCW's New Age Outlaws

Though they came out a few years BEFORE the Outlaws. I would consider them them the forerunner to Edge and Christian, much like I considered Barry Windham's run as "The Lone Wolf" the forerunner to Triple H's "Game" persona.

The story behind the Blondes is a good one. Windham, who was Brian Pillman's partner at the time, missed a flight or something, and they had Austin take his place. They ended up working well together and, since WCW didn't have much else to do with either guy (Pillman was floundering as a heel at this point, and I want to say that Austin just got off his long assed TV Title run.), so they stayed together. They inexplicably got over as heels.

so far I have enjoyed the work of Hawkins & Archer. Just 2 random guys not working put together but so far their tandem offensive maneuvers have proven effective and so far their matches have been enjoyable. Time will tell.

I don't know about 'inexplicably' since they were both dynamite. The only inexplicable part of their run was seperating them.

miz and morrison were thrown together for sure.
Edge was way better than Christian but the Brood thing didn't last and they were just thrown together.
Harlem Heat just sucked. They threw those two together

Wouldn't class Rated RKO as thrown together, at least going by what the criteria seems to be here (random workers thrown together for something to do, turns out well) Rated RKO was more of an angle than a team.

I don't know about 'inexplicably' since they were both dynamite. The only inexplicable part of their run was seperating them.

The odds were against them. There was really nothing for Austin after the TV title run. Pillman wasn't catching fire as a heel at first. They were more or less thrown together and it worked. Both guys found another gear working off one another. Better than it should have. That was why the were separated. :(

They threw in Rob Parker, turned Pillman face and Austin got a US Title Reign. He almost got a World title reign before Bad Timing came into play (won't say the name, but his initials were Hulk Hogan).
