Anyone else thinks this is kinda bullshit? I mean, it's one thing to have a fight end in controversial fashion like Machida/Rua and set up a rematch, but to get worked like Penn did to clearly lose his title, and get it?

I think someone else should get the 1st shot, like Gray Maynard, maybe KenFlo since he's been on a good streak since his loss to BJ.

Seems like a good fight card, and i know KenFlo and Maynard are gonna fight on it (and whoever wins should get a title shot), but i just kind of think that one of them should be fighting for the belt instead.

Dunno, BJ wasn't exactly dominated, it was a close fight. I think a rematch is acceptable given Penn's reign/stature and the fact it was a good fight. If he'd have been blown away I could understand giving it to somebody else.

Fuck Maynard. You really want that boring guy as champ? Besides, CSL called it. It was really close and Maynard has the chance to be up next if he beats Florian.

Maynard is the least entertaining fighter to watch in the division. He's gonna have to finish Florian to get a shot and he won't do that

I would imagine BJ equals a shit load more ppv buys and cash flow than anybody else in that division.

Tyson Griffin can make money. I have yet to see him in a bad fight.

Frankie Edgar could totally be marketed as a Modern-Day Rocky.

obviously Kenny is the second best fighter in the division. It would be a bonafide upset if Maynard gets the W. What im bothered with is that immediate rematch. I understand the guy has been dominant for years in the division and is a draw, but i just dont believe in immediate rematches in pro sports.

I mean, Tito Ortiz was the LHW Champ for three years and a top draw, and when he dropped the belt he didnt get an immediate rematch. Whatevs i guess, i would have just liked to see a some of the other fighters get the spotlight.

Actually, it was supposed to be Hughes vs. Serra, but Serra got injured. Hughes ended up getting RAPED by GSP for the Interim Title. Then GSP fought Serra for the real title and Serra got RAPED.
