Punk is holding the Undertaker hat.

The undertaker coat is on the mat in front of gallows

Punk drops the hat to the mat beside the coat.

Punk lifts his leg to stomp the hat.

The arena turns red as Kane's pyro hits: the coat is gone and the hat has been teleported to the corner behind Gallows.

Never seen an edit like that on SD before. What the hell happened that they had to cut out??

Undertaker tried joining CM Punk's stable in real life but Vince wouldn't allow it so they edited it out.

I thought that Smackdown this week was pretty horrible this week. The fact that 90% of the show revolved around constipated popeye (can't remember who called Drew McIntyre that but now every time I hear him talk ). I thought the only real entrtaining thing was LayCool. The segment with Kaval and when McCool almost falls while walking out, hilarious.

They reshot the entrance because John Cena's music hit by accident.

...I find it...stupid...that in 2010, when they air RAW live each week, they have PPV's live every month...that they STILL TAPE Smackdown.

...don't they know that their audience would most likely GO UP if the fans didn't have spoilers on TUESDAY of what they'll see on FRIDAY?

1. A live show costs quite a bit more than a taped show.

2. Taped shows in wrestling have been around as long as it's been on TV. If the writing is good, people will watch, no matter now long beforehand they have the spoilers. In 1998 and most of 99, one of the hottest periods in WWF/E history, half of the episodes of RAW were taped.

no, they don't know shit fans pull out of their ass to justify their preferences.

yeah but not as many people knew where to find the spoilers back then

This is the kind of thing where I can't tell if you're serious (because it sounds believable) or if you're being KK and taking a shot a Cena.

I doubt it would have made much of a difference, they were selling out arenas and averaging 6.0 ratings wise by 1999, I don't know how much lower more available spoilers would have made that.

Exactly.

Also, I think it's a matter of WWE being "comfortable" and knowing they have no competition...cause when Smackdown first began, it was live...but then again, WCW was still around, with "Thunder" on TBS on Thursdays, so WWE felt obligated to go live because of competition. WWE eventually as we all know bought WCW, and a little bit later on, started taping Smackdown.

Also, I don't recall Smackdown ever being taped live regularly, only every now and again or on special occasions. And I doubt Vince felt obligated to do anything that WCW was doing in 1999.

SmackDown has never been consistently live.

I never noticed the cut, but I did see Gallows kick the jacket out of the ring (hard camera side) and Punk kick at the hat (towards the opposite side of the hard camera) just before the camera panned to Kane's entrance..... I honestly don't think it was edited at all......

The latter. except minus the part about taking a shot at Cena. I just went for the first wrestler's theme I could think og.

It's a pretty simple trick. Lights go out, a ring worker grabs the hat and jacket at the same time another person sets another hat and jacket at the top of the stage entrance. Lights come back on. That teleportation holmes.

What? It's instantaneous. And it's not moved to the stage, it just moved to a corner behind them. Did you read what I wrote?

There was a show a saw a while back where CM Punk was on the microphone and the logo was flipped upsidedown for most of his promo but was suddenly corrected after switching cameras.

Smackdown's quality has diminished in the last 6 months, before it used to be the show that I preferred to watch for the last 2 years as RAW became very bothersome and lacked any creative direction/exciting storylines.

Part of Smackdown's problem is the lackluster of star power. The only real main event people left on SD are Big Show, Undertaker, CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, and Kane. Jack Swagger still hasn't reached that level in my book and WWE rushed too much in giving him the World Heavyweight Championship. With Undertaker out, your have the same 4 guys over and over buying for the WHC from Swagger, same sandwich, just remade differently each week.
