View Full Version : So apparently ROH Death Before Dishonor VIII was a classic...

You can find the results elsewhere, but the second half of the show featured Christopher Daniels vs. Kenny Omega, The Kings of Wrestling vs. The Briscoe Brothers and Tyler Black vs. Davey Richards -- all of which were apparently awesome matches. The ROH World Title match between Black and Richards is being described as a five-star classic and Match of the Year candidate.
Throw in Austin Aries pissing people off by using The Final Countdown as entrance music, El Generico choking Kevin Steen with a tie, and an entertaining match between the aforementioned Steen and Generico, and you have a PPV that apparently delivered on all cylinders.
My question is: who watched it? And just what can ROH do to really put themselves out there as a viable product? Will they ever make it?

Aries used the Final Countdown music at the show before this, not this one.
Ya, he didn't use it around this time from what I read.
I will make it a point to watch it online, ROH PPV's come out about 2 days later.

I was in attendance for DBD and all the things that are being said about the show are are true.Everything from Generico choking steen with a tie.The bloodbath that was the tag title match and the classic that was Davey/Tyler the toronto crowd was hot all night.Even there sweeper got a fun reaction. First half started of slow with only steen/generico really standing out but the third half was mind blowing.
Tyler back also gained back alot of fans last night as the crowd was strictly behind Davey.Even giving Tyler a "you cant beat him chant" But by the end of the match Tyler proofed he deserves that belt

I've fallen out of sorts with the ROH product, but it's still good to know they are putting on tremendous shows. They need a legitimate two-hour block somewhere.

Sounds really good. I'll probably look for a torrent or something.

I'm sure the 15 people who ordered it were happy. Lol ROH really knows its fanbase: a iPPV on a Saturday night. It's not like indy wrestling fans spend their Saturday nights painting the town red.

Staying home on a Saturday watching an Indy ppv on the internet doesn't help matters.

As a rule, I don't think too much of the discussion at the cool kids table in the cafeteria centers around wrestling in general. I guess you're the exception, Gertner.

I think there is quite a bit of casual wrestling fans who just watch it when there's nothing else on like I do now, instead of ROH fans who devote their entire lives to looking up obscure references to yell at shows in an attempt to get themselves over.
