"Ladies and Gentlemen please welcome to the stage one of the most brilliant actors of this and any generation. He was voted "Most Likely To Be Awesome" in high school. He deserved an Oscar for his work in Leatherheads, an Emmy for his roles in Glee and Global Guts, and should have at least 2 or 3 Grammy's just because......Ladies and Gentlemen...Mr. Michael O Malley.

First off let me be candid and say that there would be no Mo without Mike O Malley. There would be no Greg from Yes, Dear & there would be no music on glee with Mr O.
Guts and the ever emotional sequel, Global Guts, would not have been as drama filled and nerve biting without the his squeeling vocals. Nobody could have made The Crag seem so important and devlish.
I'll admit it, the show Yes Dear is absolutely miserable to watch. BUT I still watch it almost every day ONLY because Mike O Malley.
Seriously, FUCK Chuck Norris jokes....We need to raise the church of O Malley and create some Malleyisms.
In the turn around of a lifetime, Mike joined the cast of GLEE to become the STAR of the show as gay Kurt's loving and supportive father. The 2 or 3 best episodes of that particular series were the ones involving Kurt, his father and their power strugge to survive with each other. Totally moving and emotional stuff....things I didn't know Mr. Malley had in him.
To be serious for a moment..I do absolutely love Mike O Malley and could watch him on my television every day for the rest of my life.

He also did those ESPN commercials a few years back. He is quite the underrated thespian.

I have such hate for Yes, Dear and yet I have seen every episode due its scheduling several years ago.

Yes! I knew I couldn't be the only one who took enjoyment from watching this man perform. A true icon of Nicks golden age, he was a figurehead of my television viewing back when I was a kid (I can't remember his first show but Guts and G. Guts ruled!). Even today I find myself re-watching his time warner commercials because they are so entertaining.
So yeah, without a doubt this man doesn't get half the credit he deserves.
Also, I just want to point out that he is the reason that new "Family Guts" program only lasted about a week. The guy they had hosting it was just a poser.

Yeah, it aired on Nicks fitness network GAS, but like I said they only aired like four episodes. It was a tragic mess, I was actually hoping that O' Malley would jump out of the crowd and punch the host in the face, it was that bland.
On the subject of Guts though, does anyone here think they could have made it up the Agro Crag? I use to daydream about it in my youth.

I think every kid dreamed about making it up the Agro Crag. I'm not even going to bullshit though: I would have come in dead last on any event that involved steering around the buoys. I would have been the kid spinning around in circles by the first buoy while time expires.

No joke. Those water based challenges were a bitch.
"Oh no! The nose of his board is going under creating more pressure against him. He's gotta fix that to get a good time!"

There is no way to even practice that at home. With some of the challenges you have probably done similar things at recess, but the water round is what separates the kids who are good at dodge ball at from the junior Lance Armstrongs.

I remember one year they had Melissa Joan Hart come on during the Sabrina run, and they aired a pilot for a new Clarissa show...sadly it never blossomed.

95% of TNA's main eventers couldn't climb the Crag.

Global Guts is better than the Global Championship, that's for sure
Was a Global Guts champion ever crowned? If I recall, they kept score in a way that didn't make much sense, and I don't remember there ever being an end to it all. I don't think there was an ending or a winner, and there probably was never even a plan for it.

They did like an Olympics-style tally of all the countries represented and how many overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes they had.

One thing Global Guts had over the original was the SUPER Aggro Crag. </EMBED>

But did they crown a winner, DAMN iNATOR?
Also, would you rather win a glowing piece of The Crag, or one of those stylin' bomber jackets they give to the winner of Carmen San Diego?

Well, considering that I'm better at geography than anything athletics based, it'd have to be the latter. Although I can't recall if they replaced all the winning gumshoes coats with Sleuth jackets or if that was just for those who flagged a certain number of places correctly in the bonus round. Think at one point you had to have gotten like 6 out of 8 or something for the jacket, but I'd have to look it up, and I don't want to start on another WitWiCS? rant. This isn't about that.

What kind of strategy would you employ in ascending The Crag? Do you think you'd fare better scaling it's treacherous slopes, or navigating the chambers of Omec's Temple?
thedamndest
06-22-2010, 11:42 AM
It's definitely easier to go up The Crag than it is to go through Olmec's Temple. The only problem is you're competing against two other kids. But the Temple is the hardest kid game show finale known to man.
Savio
06-22-2010, 07:41 PM
yeah the temple was ridiculous.
