I had my doubts about this movie, like everyone it seemed. I think this looks pretty good though. Seems fun.
Michael Gondry is a good director too.

I'm not really a Green Hornet fan. The show was before my time and I don't really know what it's all about, so I don't have any real expecations.
Seth Rogen and Cristoph Waltz in the same movie sounds nice.

Seems fun. Glad they aren't trying to make Seth Rogan be 100% serious... because I don't think he could do that.

Sorry, Seth Rogan does nothing for me in this role. Also, the Kevin Smith script would have been so much better. I'm personally calling this an auto-fail.

Yeah what happened with Kevin Smith? I thought he was writing it? In fact when I first saw this thread, the first thing I thought was 'it's about time'. Not that I'm a GH fan, just that I'd heard years ago about Smith working on this.

Oh well, doesn't matter now. Overall this seems alright, but looks pretty much the same as all the other comedy 'non-super hero-type becomes a super hero' movies.

I think smith turned his screenplay into a limited run comic book

True, but only after the studio took Rogen's involvement and kicked Smith to the curb.

Another good show bites the dust. :nono:

But I will say Jay Chou as Kato looks pretty cool.

True, but only after the studio took Rogen's involvement and kicked Smith to the curb.

The studio canned Kevin Smith long before they brought in Rogen, from what I recall in the news.
Rogen also has nothing to do with the screenplay of this movie. Lastly, Smith and Rogen have worked together in the past and are supposedly buddies now, so I don't think them working together was out of the question.

I watched some of the Green Hornet fight scenes. Hornet was more of a bar room brawler, while Kato was... fucking Bruce Lee.

If Rogan has a fight with one guy, while Chou fucks people up left, right, and center, it could work.

kind of late seeing this...

The camera missed HALF of what he did, he was going so fast.

From the classic series.

Fun fact, the red haired thug was played by someone I mention a bit in the MMA forums: Gene LeBell. Bruce liked using him because he could handle the landings well and could take a punch better than most.
