Probably my favorite off-season event in all of sports. The loud suits, the trades, the 7'0" foreigners who have no idea what's going on, the big fat black mommas who cry their eyes out when their baby boy gets drafted. I just fucking love it.
Really looking forward to tonight, even though I haven't really followed college basketball in a while.

Kirk Hinrich is going to the Wizards along with the Bulls' 1st round pick. Dunno what's gonna happen when Arenas, Hinrich, and John Wall all in that back court. Bulls are clearing a shitload of cap room though.

Knicks pick 38 and 39th.
Right now they have 5 players on the roster. Tonight we start our 10th rebuilding year by adding a bench.

I forget, how did the Knicks lose their pick this year?

no idea. probably something in like 2008. They are looking to trade up though. doesn't really matter as that guy will be a bust or traded within a year anyway

This better not happen since Perkins was really missed in the final game vs the Lakers mostly for his rebounding support and 6 usable fouls to give.

Lol this is how my Jazz got the pick. On January 5, 2004 Isaiah Thomas traded Howard Eisley, Charlie Ward, Antonio McDyess, Maciej Lampe, draft rights to Miloš Vujanić, a first-round 2004 draft choice, as well as an additional future first-round draft choice (2010) for Stephon Marbury, Penny Hardaway and Cezary Trybański.
It was February 19, 2004 when this future first round draft pick was thrown into a trade for Tom Gugliotta which the Utah Jazz threw together in exchange for Keon Clark, and Ben Handlogten.
The conditions on the future first-round pick were lottery protected until 2010.
So the Jazz dealt Keon Clark and Ben Handlogten for it in 2004. Hope that answers your question. Isaiah is an idiot.
Oh sweet. Indiana drafted another SF. Lets just play all Small Forwards Jim Obrien. Brilliant idea. Lets only keep 7 foot centers on the bench too. And while we're at it, make the team play in sandals. Yes YESSSSSS! Now we're on to something here.
Fucking hate my life.

It's amazing how far in advanced teams trade their picks. I remember Memphis missed out on Carmelo and Bosh because they traded for Otis Thorpe like 15 years ago.

Yeah, They landed and AGED Otis THorpe from Detroit for the number 2 pick that turned into Darko Milicic, a player they later traded for and sent away Drew gooden.

NBA defiantly needs a limit on how far into the future a team can give away draft picks.
 at how badly Knicks messed up with the 2004 trade even though it seemed dumb back then to do a trade for a pick that wouldn't become usable until 6 years later.

The reason why it landed in 2004 was due to a bunch of stipulations regarded the pick. 2010 was kind of an expiry date where the pick had to be made regardless if the Knicks were in the lottery.
