WWE SmackDown!, Airing Friday:
* SmackDown opens with Jack Swagger talking about beating Big Show last week. Show comes out and beats down Swagger but gets jumped by Cody Rhodes. Rey Mysterio comes out to make the save.

* Teddy Long announces tonight's main event will be Jack Swagger vs. Rey Mysterio for the World Heavyweight Championship.

* Kofi Kingston beat Dolph Ziggler in a solid match.

* CM Punk is shown with his arm in a sling.

* Christian hosts The Peep Show with Matt Hardy. Ladders are setup. It's announced that Drew McIntyre is out of action due to issues with his visa.

* Cody Rhodes is shown in a segment talking to himself in a mirror. He talks about the Money in the Bank match.

* Kane vs. Luke Gallows ends when Straight Edge Society attacks Kane. He clears house. Serena comes in and begs Kane not to hurt CM Punk. A video is shown from May 31st of Serena drinking alcohol at a bar. Punk and Gallows confront her so Punk was there and he couldn't have attacked Undertaker that weekend. SES leaves Serena alone in the ring.

* Chavo Guerrero says he should get an Intercontinental Title shot if he wins his match tonight. Chavo loses to MVP.

* Kelly Kelly beats Michelle McCool by pinfall.

* Rey Mysterio comes out to a big ovation from the crowd. and talks about winning the World Title at Fatal 4 Way and the match with Jack Swagger at Money in the Bank.

* Rey Mysterio and Big Show defeated Cody Rhodes and Jack Swagger by DQ in the main event. Swagger was DQ'd for not releasing a submission hold on Mysterio. SmackDown ends with Rey selling the ankle injury.

* Chavo Guerrero says he should get an Intercontinental Title shot if he wins his match tonight. Chavo loses to MVP.

Word going around at Tuesday night's SmackDown tapings tonight is that CM Punk had surgery on his arm last week.

Apparently Punk may be out of action for 4-8 weeks from the surgery. It's been known that he's been working hurt for at least a few weeks.

Punk will appear on Friday's SmackDown with a sling on his arm.

No word on whether he'll be off television during his recovery time.

Yea but with this MitB, you can rule guys out easier. You REALLY think they'd have Big Show win a MitB? Big guys never do well in ladder matches, let alone a MitB.

I don't know, I'm just the messenger. I copy/pasted without ever realizing they never did have the match, and it somehow instead got turned into a tag team main event, the results of which are listed. Perhaps we'll get some sort of explanation on TV Friday when it airs.

Yeah for sure. Though I'll say this: If we're ever to take this new "Dashing" Cody Rhodes stuff seriously, dude needs a change of music from that old, generic crap he's been using since his debut. I mean, come the fuck on. He's had a new singles tron video forever, but still has that annoying generic theme of his.

The music can come in anytime, especially if he wins the match and comes to his new theme the following Smackdown. But ya, he definitely needs something else.

Also:- Jack Swagger came out again and invoked his rematch clause. Teddy Long said it would be Mysterio vs. Swagger in a cage match tonight. It appears this will be the dark match main event since they are now advertising Swagger and Cody vs. Show and Mysterio for the television show.
Rey Mysterio came out and cut a promo in the ring about winning the World Hvt. Championship at the Fatal Four Way pay-per-view. It will be Rey vs. Swagger at the pay-per-view.

Another thing:- Alberto Del Rio was featured in a vignette on the Titan Tron. There was another Iraq video, and a second Albert Del Rio vignette.

Lastly:- They are already setting up for NXT. I saw a keg out there. Not as many boos for Michael Cole as one might expect.

Likely Dark Match

Teddy Long came out and said he received an email from the anonymous general manager and both agreed to have a U.S. Title match. Miz came out and got great heat for mispronouncing Wilkes-Barre as he noted that he won the title the last time they were there. John Morrison cut a promo and referred to Miz as "hefty."

1. The Miz beat John Morrison to retain the U.S. Title. Miz attacked Morrison at ringside and threw him into the crowd. Miz played to the crowd while Morrison struggled to get back inside the ring. Matt Striker ran to the back for unknown reasons. Miz put Morrison in a Texas Cloverleaf, but he got to the ropes.

Morrison missed Starship Pain. Miz came back with the Skull Crushing Finale and scored the pin to win the match. After the match, the referees changed the ring ropes to yellow for NXT.

One might argue that a guy is only given a distinctive theme if there are big plans for him in the future. A good example is McIntyre- suddenly he got some interest when he came out to his new theme.

Bottom line- Generally a good wrestler gets a good theme, you can't really say you care for a wrestler just because of the theme.

Dammit, I was looking forward to Punk being in MITB again.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the first injury he's had since he got called up to WWE. Hopefully he's back for Summerslam though.

Cody Rhodes will get new theme music soon enough. I am sure that we will see Dolph Ziggler and MVP added to the match next week. I wish we had CM Punk in the match instead of Big Show, though. Ah well.

I wish the WWE would work out what they want to do with Dos Caras, Jr. and just do it, aye.

It doesn't really bother me, as I think Cody's is pretty good for a generic theme -- but I can understand why people don't take a guy presented like that seriously. He should have been allowed to keep "It's a New Day."

My prediction is that Kofi Kingston snags the blue briefcase at MITB. Big Show won't, because he's already too established. I don't think Kane will, because he's never been about getting pushed, and could be taken out by the SES or something. Matt Hardy wont, because he's Matt Hardy. Cody Rhodes won't, because I still don't think Michael Hayes really has any clue what he's doing with him. Dolph Ziggler won't, because they haven't even given him a mid-card title at this point (and he doesn't hang out with the boss-in-law). MVP and Christian won't, because there is at least one other option. That is Kofi Kingston.

I think it's just a matter of a lot of us who've been waiting for ages just quietly hoping Christian will win the SD! ladder match at the pay-per-view as it's his first big break. That and probably at least a few must think deep down that if they even dare to breathe a syllable about him finally becoming World champion that it would be A.) Heavily debated amongst everyone, and B.) That it would be some sort of curse or jinx on Christian, somehow.

Just my guess.
