DDP

I don't feel like I know where to begin with this guy. He got into the business later in life then most, but made one hell of a run. I still wonder about his potential in the WWE had they not booked the shitty stalker storyline with taker. The guy can talk and, unlike Warrior, could actually make a decent living off of motivational speaking. His diamond cutter was also a thing of beauty that he could pull out of nowhere. I give him a solid 8.
Rankings
#1 Kurt Angle - 9.53
#2 HHH - 7.89
#3 Kane - 7.33
#4 Rey Mysterio - 6.59

gave him an 8! he's worked his ass off in WCW, he climbed the ranks and reached the top. he can talk, awesome finisher, awesome theme (self high five), but points deducted for his burial in WWE.

HHH was given a 7.89..... ao I feel as though I have to give DDP a 7 just to be lower..... If HHH had been given an 8.89, I would have no problem giving DDP an 8

I say rank him as you think he is, don't try to rig the rankings by low-balling wrestlers you think are good. This is a TPWW ranking system not an individual ranking system. Just my take though.

Gave him an 8, in part because while he started out shit as hell in the WWF/WWE, I was really intrigued to see where his "power of positive thinking" gimmick would have gone. I still maintain to this day if it hadn't been for that one unfortunate injury that put him out for good in May or so of 2002, that he would be or could definitely be at least a very serious contender for, the World Heavyweight Championship. It's almost criminal that his insurance company wouldn't cover him anymore if he went back to in-ring action (he said so himself in a WWE Confidential interview, which is posted).

How can you NOT love the giant (almost creepy really) smile filled with perfectly pearly whites at the end of every promo like this, which of course ended with "It's not a bad thing, it's a GOOD thing!" I especially loved how he ripped on Christian for losing at WrestleMania X8 while Christian threw a fit. :D

DDP's infamous SD! match with Hardcore Holly (taped 4/16/02, aired 4/18/02):

I gave him an 8 just for giving us the "self high-five". Really was awesome in WCW!

6. Slightly above average, completely overachieved what he should have been.

Solid 8, DDP was awesome and he did the Diamond Cutter better than anyone.

Yeah, 8. Loved DDP. Good in the ring, could talk, awesome finisher, got the crowd behind him. Hated the way he was booked in the Taker/DDP storyline. But yeah, I always liked DDP and enjoyed him throughout his career.
I demand that Shisen Kopf explain the 1 rating. Come on.

6... he was above average on pretty much every level but not sleek or good enough to really make it in WWE. 6 because he cannot be put up there with all time greats like Steamboat, Flair, Race, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, or The Undertaker.
He fuckin sucked so I gave him a 1, but 1 bonus point for wifing Kimberley and 1 bonus point for inventing the Diamond Cutter = 3/10

He's a 7 to me he's had his moments or brilliance but he's been slightly above average to me for the most part.

Fucking 9. The only thing i haven't seen the guy do for WCW was a fucking moonsault.

A 8, But Damn Angle Got 9.53, I Don't Think Anyone can top that maybe HBK.

Seems sorta strange that DDP had the Diamond Cutter his whole career, gets injured, and is never seen or heard from again (excluding that "Confidential" report/interview), and then exactly one week later on SD!, this "Randy Orton" guy makes his debut in WWE, and convieniently enough has a finishing maneuver strikingly similar to the Diamond Cutter...the RKO.

If we got future polls that were say, Eddie or The Rock, I think they both would have an excellent shot at surpassing Kurt, but we shall see.

At some point we will get to HBK, Rock, Taker, Eddie, Flair, Steamboat, but next week I'm going to open a jar of worms.

8. The guy worked his ass off and was glad to get were he did. He knows he honestly shouldn't have. Matches were good, Mic skills good, theme good, finisher great. The only time I ever really didn't care for him was during the whole Leno thing. Outside of wrestling he's done great for himself, and really managed to break the stereotype of the ex wrestler. Plus he had the balls to put Jay-Z's ass in his place.

it would be interesting to see how these compair to the origional "rate the wrestler" threads.

Did anyone save the results of the originals?
Destor
07-03-2010, 06:23 AM
you could search rate the wrestler and see if a thread pops up. those are probably some very common words though so the search might not work. but if you mannage to find the final RTW then you`ll have the results for all the ones before it.

You probably have to look for it manually because the search doesn't work beyond a certain point due to the board change.

You may be right, but 9.53 is sure one hell of a score. Will See...

No, not 'the worm' Now that I think about it, there are several wrestlers that will get a mixed reaction on here.

Win right there. I gave him a 8. Was gonna go for a 9 but he lost points with the stalker angle.

I voted him a 7 because he was a wrestler who liked to plan everything out. He lacked the ability to just wing it and have a good match.
I heard Macho Man was the same way though, so that's probably why they liked wrestling with each other.
