Bret Hart

One of my favorite wrestlers of the mid-90's. I always thought he had the best psychology in the business. He wasn't the best on the mic, but at the same time it always sounded like it was him talking, not some character. The little kid inside of me is screaming at me to give him a 10, but I'm still thinking that a 9 is the way to go. I'm going to have to think about it for a while.
Rankings
#1 Kurt Angle - 9.53
#2 HHH - 7.89
#3 Kane - 7.33
#4 Rey Mysterio - 6.59
#5 MVP* - 5.95

I would have given him a 10 but he lost a few points for certain reasons so I gave him a 8. Still a great score.

certain reasons?
Gave him an 8 for his lacking in talking, its part of being a pro-wrestler if I do say so myself.

10... for the simple fact that without him, wrestling would still be dominated by 300-pound freaks..... like it or not, he helped pave the way for the lighter guys to succeed.... The Jericho's, The CM Punk's and pretty much every top guy who is not a roidmonkey

certain reasons?
Namely his talking skills and his match with McMahon (granted he had a stroke and all but all the more reason why it probably should not have happened)

I'd have to say he's an easy high 9.
You should do a Rank A Wrestler for Sabu!!

He's definitely 9+ I went with 10, considered 9 for a bit, but defo a 10 in the end.
Various reasons. Mainly cos he was the man growing up. Him and Michaels.

7, think we would have been better if it weren't for lack of Mic skills and the latest stint with WWE. Career cut short for sure. Definitely the lesser player in the screwjob saga

I'll give him a solid 8.5.
Which I'll round up to a 9.
He's a jam up kinda guy, but he lacks the certain something to solidify himself as a 10.

I gave him a 9. I'm not really sure if anyone but Angle deserves a 10. Everyone else seems to have at least one flaw.

He's a 10. There's no debate about it. If you don't think he's a 10, you're of course entitled to your opinion. Be advised however that your opinion doesn't mean shit.
lol @ people deducting points for his current stint

Except for me it was a nine

agreed, pretty lame if you ask me but I expected nothing less from tp-dub

WTF!!!, Deduct 1 point because of this match? It barely happened, years after he's been on a shelf. :nono:

I don't think anyone except Flair and Hogan deserve a 10 so from a max of 9 with the single point deduction it was 8.

Little known fact that Bret is actually 100% healthy for this last run, but for kayfabe sake he sold his stroke like it was real. And people actually thought it was real. That is legendary talent, folks.

A solid 8. I just was never as big of a Bret fan as most. He was obviously extremely good in the ring, but I just felt he was missing something. I can't really put my finger on it, but I just never really enjoyed Bret like I've enjoyed others.
Oh and basing any of the rating on his most recent run is extremely retarded.

Yeah, a definate 10 from me. Also, when you do your final average I don't think you should count stupid fucking votes like Shisen Kopf's. Just sayin.
One of the maybe five 10's I would give out goes to this man.

8 awesome wrestler, talker and tonz of charisma, points deducted for buggering off to WCW when we was hot and ending his career by Goldberg.

Shisen Kopf's vote counts. I'm not going to start playing favorites or anything and he is a part of the tp-dub community too. Was his vote retarded? Yes. Does he actually think that low of Bret? Most likely not. Was this vote a cry for attention? Most likely so. But, most of the wrestlers had at least one 1. MVP didn't have any and he's last, Kurt didn't either and he's first.

Also, I was thinking about looking for a new way to get a ranking not necessarily by a pure average, but something that relies on the mean as well. Any suggestions?

Not Shawn Michaels. HBK is the perennial 10.
