So, I'm playing Crackdown 2 with a friend. I go to take a vehicle to a drop point to store it, and my buddy says "I wonder if I can shoot your helicopter." I notice another car I don't have, so within 20 seconds, I'm back at the drop point with a new vehicle. My buddy confirms he can shoot the drop helicopter.A few seconds later, I'm dead, as a drop helicopter crashes on me, blows up my car, and sends me flying into the air in a flaming heap.
Well, I figure fair's fair, so I respawn and he's trying to get a car oddly enough, the same one) at the same drop point, and having trouble because of the flaming debris. So I return the favour, shooting the helicopter, crashing it on his vehicle.
And he responds bitching me out for doing that, when he'd just done the same to me. He insists he didn't shoot down the helicopter, though he had already said he shot it and there were no enemies in the vicinity that I could discern (far as I can tell, reclaimed areas are safe zones). A few seconds later, I'm kicked to the menu and he's gone from my XBL party.
This isn't a "was I right?" thread. He and a few other of my friends frequently dick around in coop online games like this, fucking with each other. Blowing each other up in Crackdown or SR2, Trampling each other in RDR or shooting each others' horses and shit. Wrestling games, we often backstab one another, etc. etc. etc. It's generally considered good fun, and horseplay. Eventually, the lot of us will call a truce and get on with shit. So I had no reason to think him killing me was malicious, and no reason to think my response would be taken as such.
So really, it surprised me. This doesn't normally happen. In fact, this is a first. Random folks on XBL, that's different. You don't know them or have established traditions and rules and shit, and some of them are just dicks or sore losers. I've had RAGEQUITS before, just not actual friends.
This ever happened to any of you guys? Were you being a dick, screwing around, or was it just an accident (I accidentally headshotted the same guy in a gang hideout in RDR because he ran right in front of me, for example, but we both knew that was just shit luck)? Sleeping with their Fable wife? :shifty:
