- Jeff Jarrett has been teasing “big news” on his Twitter account this past week. On July 3rd, Jarrett wrote the following: “Just received some huge news!”
Then on Wednesday, he wrote this: “Huge news is happening today and tomorrow…”
Later on Wednesday and then on Thursday, Jarrett posted photos that he called hints at what the big news is. The first photo looked to be a shot of an island and the second photo was a spotlight that you would see on a movie or TV set. One fan speculated that the first photo was of Staten Island in New York.
Furthermore, Dixie Carter continues to tease something big on her Twitter account. Dixie wrote the following last night: “Oh, if you guys only knew who I met with today….. You will.”
So what's the big surprise guys? Speculate at your own risk...

Is this still part of the whole 'something that'll change pro wrestling' or whatever the big hype was a couple of weeks ago?
Y'know whatever the surprise is, the build up/speculation/hype alone will never live up to the expectations of the internet.
And if the surprise is a person, I don't think there is any one person that would truly shock anyone, except Vince McMahon.
With Heyman all buddies with Brock and talking about pro-wrestling needing to get its act clean, I doubt he would venture far from MMA at this point- especially if he becomes Brock's manager.

I don't think it's Paul Heyman. Heyman working for TNA would be cool, but seriously, is he enough to garner this much hype? I don't think so.

If Heyman is being brought in with full creative control and any kind of backstage power, then that must mean someone is leaving.
There's just too many components there already and someone has to be getting the boot. I'm not sure how Hogan and Bischoff would coexist with Heyman. They seem to have a fair deal of power and stroke.
Russo is there for the sole reason of booking, so I'd imagine he'll get the axe. Or they'll give him some token job and he'll eventually quit.

It's probably something to do with the production side of things. I do hope that Paul Heyman signs with TNA, though. That wouldn't be a huge surprise, or anything, but I'd watch TNA, because Heyman turned fucking OVW into a better product than anything the WWE was airing at the time.
Ed Ferrera just left the company, and he was there on Russo's request -- so maybe a writing change is coming? A new team headed by Heyman, perhaps with Kevin Sullivan in there, would be...interesting.
Dixie wrote on Twitter that she had just watched Lost.
Dixie then wrote on Twitter 'not everything needs to make sense'
Jeff Jarrett then posted pics of an island and the wing of a plane.
Obviously they have signed one of the Lost actors, or JJ Abrams as script writer or some shit.

- A lot of the TNA talent backstage in Orlando thinks that Paul Heyman will be signing with the company, although that belief has been around for weeks. He has been in talks with TNA for several months, and he was to be the surprise that did not come through at last month's show, and unless something drastic happens he will be the surprise that does not come through tonight. Heyman is still in New York as far as anyone knows and no deal has been signed. There are still several major issues to sort out and it is very unlikely they can be sorted out in a few hours. Aaaand from PWI:
There were strong rumors all this weekend that Paul Heyman would be debuting tonight at the Victory Road PPV and taking over the company's creative side (and possibly more than that), but as of a few hours ago, nothing had been signed and Heyman was believed to have been in New York City, as opposed to Orlando. Heyman has strongly stressed to everyone that he had certain demands that needed to be met in order for him to want to step full-time into professional wrestling again and as of now, the two sides apparently haven't come to terms. I am given the indication that discussions remain ongoing, however.
Honestly, I didn't think this was a story but since my email has been bombarded, and I need it to stop, here is what I can tell you about any chance of Paul Heyman being at TNA's PPV tonight. According to three sources, Paul Heyman was not in anyone's sight in Orlando as of 5 p.m. So if he is coming to TNA, it appears he won't be there in -person tonight.
To reiterate what we know here, the sides have met. There is interest. But Heyman knows what it takes to succeed and he has told anyone that will listen that he will only go to TNA if he has full control of the product.

Sounds like Jarret's Twitter post could possibly be not wrestling related. Doesn't really say anywhere it is. Maybe Karen is pregnant or something. Or he just got married. Who knows.
FearedSanctity
07-12-2010, 03:14 AM
Could be, but given their constant negotiations with Heyman, it's easy to assume that's what it could've been. Also, Dixie tweeted this:
Oh, if you guys only knew who I met with today..... You will.
7:50 PM Jul 8th via web
However, it not being TNA related would also explain Jarrett's futile attempt at damage control when it got big. But honestly, given TNA's tendency to announce things via Twitter, who could blame the fans for jumping to conclusions.
But IMO it's gotta be a deal with Heyman that they teased and hyped before it got done, and then when it fell apart it bit them in the ass
Its amazing how TNA announce these 'huge surprises' which turn out to be Tommy Dreamer and Tara, yet Jeff Hardy and RVD debut with no prior warning.

By Mike Johnson on 2010-07-12 15:58:08 I reported the following earlier today in the PWInsider.com Elite section:
As I discussed on my Victory Road PPV Post-Game show last night, Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff were not at the PPV. The word on Hogan not being there was that he was still recovering from the back surgery he underwent last week. Bischoff claimed publicly he had taken the time off, although the word making the rounds in some circles backstage last night was that he purposely "stayed home to make a point to Dixie Carter" in regard to potential plans to bring Paul Heyman in. There are some who believe Hogan may be using the back surgery to distance himself from TNA if and when Heyman comes in as well. I don't believe they are contracted past the end of the year. Neither are at Impact today.
This brings us to Heyman and TNA. I have absolutely had sources tell me in the last 24 hours that Heyman will be coming in full force and overseeing a complete makeover of the company roster and TNA's front office. However, all sides are still claiming that nothing has been put to paper. I do believe they are MUCH closer to a deal than they are letting on. It could even be they have agreed and are keeping it extremely quiet as well, although sources swear that is not the case. I will say this: Heyman knows how to market and present himself better than anyone, so my personal belief is he's waiting until he has exactly what he believes he needs/wants before agreeing to come in - or he's waiting to see if he gets a big offer from somewhere else - in order to get the best deal for himself. Time will tell.
