Again that source messed up by announcing Rey-Swagger for Summerslam and then changing it to that night itself. Oh well, I would have preferred Swagger but Rey had that automatic rematch clause thingy anyway.

Why Rey Mysterio? I dont want to see him in the title hunt. especially if his kayfabe ankle is messed up.

It also begs the question of whether or not Undertaker returns at SummerSlam and if he does, what his role will be? Will he be placed into some kind of match, or would it maybe be some kind of end-of-the-night cameo?

was hoping Swagger vs Kane would come first. Blah. Shouldn't have been a number one contender match anyways with the supposed former champions "rematch clause" they always talk about.
Did you rehash my earlier comment?

I just hope this doesn't end up with an Undertaker gong going off...Kane gets distracted and Rey gets the title back once again resulting in a bullshit Kane title run...

Hmmm...I dunno if I'm liking the programs on the Smackdown side too much...meh, maybe they can surprise me..I wouldn't be surprised if Swagger was added somehow to make it a triple threat

I do wish it was Kane vs. Swagger at SummerSlam. I hope that Swagger gets added. I just love Swagger. It'd make Kane's heel turn more impactful if he gets a bit of a face run first. That 2/3 Falls Match will be amazing, though. Could even be televised match of the year.
Christian vs. Matt Hardy is a feud that I approve of. It's very unlikely, but I wouldn't mind it if they did a TLC Match at SummerSlam with the winner becoming #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title. Or just had a match where tables, ladders and chairs were legal.
I thought they would go with Kofi Kingston vs. Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam, but if we get Dolph Ziggler challenging, I will be happy. It seems he might finally get a run with the Intercontinental Title. It's only taken them like a year. Part of me hopes that we get Drew McIntyre & Rhodes challenging for the Unified WWE Tag Team Titles, too. It's a big PPV, so the Tag Team Title challengers will probably be relevant singles guys. Might as well be those two.
Layla vs. Tiffany probably won't be an in-ring classic, but I think both girls are hot, so whatever. At least it's my favourite kind of in-ring abortion.
At last! Joey Mercury is revealed! I hope we get an empassioned promo about his addiction, and how it cost him his job after being one-half of one of the most dominant tag teams in recent history. I've always had a real soft spot for both Mercury's wrestling and promo skills. I wish him success.

I really wanted to see that 619/Ankle Lock spot at the PPV, so I'm glad they went with it on this week's SD.
Also liking that all of the SES is now unmasked...maybe now they'll give Joey Mercury a name. It'd be interesting if they gave him a backstory similar to the one they gave Gallows -- used to be in a tag team, was manipulated and enabled by his partner, etc.

Just watched the opening half hour, good stuff so far.
Striker made a thinly veiled Hardcore Holly reference after Cody used his old finish saying "someone hardcore in Alabama will be smiling". I doubt Bob Holly ever smiles.
Something is definately going on with Hardy / Christian but it's hard to tell which direction they're going. Hardy's refusal to shake Christian's hand after Hardy was the one who messed up was weird.
Kane's opening promo was weird. But I liked it, having the music play in the background works really well with his character.

With the current gimmick, I hope Big Show turns heel and pulls the mask of Ray Mastrio soon.

Cody Rhodes' music might be my favorite part of Smackdown

I'm liking the build-up of the bitterness between Hardy and Christian since both are friends but at the same time would be willing to take the other person out if it meant a chance at being the heavyweight champion. Both have waited years for a chance to have a title reign and already hint at a title being more valuable than their long-term friendship.
I also like how they are keeping the Kane-Swagger feud going even when Kane is the champion since it makes Kane remember he has to finish business with Swagger while also taking out anyone who wants to challenge for his title. Most of the time WWE has the new champion focus on the challenger and drop the other feuds he might have been.

That was a pretty sweet promo by Kane to open the show. Loved the music in the background, just seemed to fit him and make everything he said that much more dramatic/menacing.

I guess I'm one of the few that doesn't really like it when they add background music to Kane's in-ring promos. Maybe it just acts as a reminder that this isn't much better than watching soap operas. I do think it was a cool promo otherwise, with the video splice ins, I just think it would've been better if it was presented as a pre-produced video or something to open the show.
It was definitely cool to see the title around his waist, though, and he seemed to get a pretty good (and realistic) pop when he was introduced as the new champion.

He should cost Kane the match, but not the win. Revealing that Kane was the one who fucked taker up setting up a nice summer series between the two.

I'd have Kane retain the World Heavyweight Title against Rey cleanly, and then have The Undertaker show up and reveal it was Kane behind his attack. This sets up a big match between them at Night of Champions, which Kane can also win (because it's about time Kane got some wins over Taker).
Joey Mercury didn't last long against Big Show. I guess it's unrealistic to expect him to, but I do hope that there are plans to use Mercury as more than fodder. I'd like to see him cut a promo next week about why he is in the Straight Edge Society. Perhaps he can team with Luke Gallows against Matt Hardy & Christian, playing off his history with Hardy, and the mounting tension between Hardy & Christian costing them the match. It gives Mercury & Gallows momentum heading into whatever they have planned for the SES against Big Show.
