This might be "make it or break it" for Akiyama in the UFC if he wants to be considered a legit contender.

I think it's a "make it or break it" fight for both Akiyama and Bisping tbh

Dana isn't letting Bisping go anywhere. Bisping is one of the main reasons Dana was able to get his foot into the door of the UK and make such an impact. I feel like he's another Stephen Bonnar in Dana's eyes. No matter what he does, he's sticking around for awhile.

But as far as being a contender for the title, yeah. You're probably right. If he doesn't start getting big wins over big names, then he'll be stuck in the midcard shuffle until he retires.

Akiyama is legit. He just fought stupid at the end and tried going toe to toe with Leben, which gassed him the fuck out, got him banged up and led to getting submitted.

Bisping is a middleweight gatekeeper. Kind of a joke, but gets a decent win now and again.

I keep hearing about the greatness of Akiyama but he has yet to back up the hype, IMO. In his first fight, he was extremely lucky to get a decision against Alan Belcher. While I love Alan Belcher and he gets increasingly better in every fight, Akiyama should've probably wiped floor with him, assuming all the hype is legitimate.

And Akiyama talked in his prefight interview that his fight with Leben was going to be alot about game plans. Really? His game plan was to get in an all out striking war with the zombie Chris Leben? What kind of game plan was that? Also, I didn't like how he treated the final round of that fight at all. He was trying to squeak out another razor thin decision by laying on top of Leben for the whole round, without working to finish the fight. Which, I can totally accept as part of the game, but I don't have to respect it.

I realize that I'm underselling Alan Belcher there a bit. Forgive me. Just everybody talks nonstop about the accolades of Akiyama, I expected him to win in a dominant fashion. That's all.

He was gassed to fuck.

Akiyama is another over hyped Japanese fighter, atleast that's what it's looking like. You may call Bisping a joke, but he ranks higher on the totum pole than Leben did, atleast until 2 wins in 2 weeks. We get he gassed in the third, but he had two round previously in the fight to finish Leben, and he didn't, he didn't even look impressive, if he doesn't win this fight he is probably won lose away from being cut.

Tito Ortiz vs. Matt Hamill at UFC 121 as well.

What a terrible match up for Tito a top level wrestler that has better striking them him.

UFC doesn't like Tito, I don't know why.....

And who has worse striking than Tito? I have yet to see it.

That's funny. Hamill trained for awhile at Tito's camp.

I think Tito is washed up now anyways, I don't even think he was all the great during his title run, once he fought a credible contender like Chuck he got out classed, badly. He should stick to beating up Ken Shamrock.

Ortiz might be washed up but I still think he can beat Hamill.

Chuck still wants his hands on Tito. I think that's why he hasn't officially retired (again) yet
