If ECW was still around Heyman would have eventually left. I imgaine he'd hand the booking duties over to Tommy Dreamer and Gabe Sapolsky. It would essentially be like ROH.

Honestly, if they were still around and never stopped, I would wonder how they're all still even able to perform. It's a good thing it went away for awhile, am I seriously supposed to believe you could go past your 30s wrestling like this? They would be in wheelchairs.

Actually, I think that if ECW was still around today it would be alittle like "Attitude Era" WWE, or the way WWECW was for about a month (Sandman and Balls bashing people with canes/ chairs and Extreme Exposé). I remember around the end of ECW they did become alittle "sports entertainment" with Danny Dorring cutting promos "about his Dannaconda" and feuds with The Network

I think we probably would have seen guys like Danielson and Ki in the "big leagues" earlier. They seem like exactly the type of guy Paul E would have gone after. thecc's analogy of ECW being like ROH is spot on, imo. Granted, there would be more hardcore-style wrestling, but ECW was where the hungry indy guys went to get noticed, which is exactly what ROH is now.
If money issues hadn't come into play, I could see ECW with a working relationship with WWE, similar to its dying days when Taz(z) came back to win the ECW Title. I don't mean full-on invasion, but I could see the occasional cross-over like Jerry Lawler's infamous Arena appearances.

I highly doubt the top of the card would still be made up of Tommy, Sandman, Raven, et al. They'd probably still be there in one form or another, but look at WWE now compared to 2001. Most of the current WWE main eventers hadn't even debuted then. I think we'd have seen the continued rise of Rhino, Tajiri, Corino, and the other guys who were on the way up at the end of ECW, and there would undoubtedly be fresh faces there as well. Guys like Kevin Steen and Jon Moxley would have been good fits in ECW if it were still around.
