Just watched the 1/3 part on YT again... Someone commented 2 weeks ago, best entrance he ever had. I'm inclined to agree.

Of course we all know about this, but fuck how much awesomeness was it. If only fucking crowds were hot these days @ WWE events. I mean, fuck sake don't have to be so "fan-boi" or so "smarky". Just 10% of that electricity would be cool. Hot crowds + hot matches = hot show. Simple.

I wish they attracted that crowd now. Crowds like that can make entire events.

Ditto.

And really, I think the crowd really brought out the best in Cena. It wasn't his best match, but it was one of his best. Loved it when he pulled out a move after all the shit they were giving him with "you can't wrestle" and they chanted "you still suck".

I really loved the t-shirt being tossed back at him, then the icing on the cake with the huge black guy flipping him the bird. Amazing.

I swear on a WWE DVD somewhere they say that Cena went out "in the face of overwhelming animosity and walked through it". Ummmmm... no, he held his face down on the way to the ring there boys. Clearly looked outta place. Would have loved to have seen the production team try to edit those fucking boos out, cos I guarantee they tried it.

I still feel that if Cena would have won, they actually would have rioted.

God :'(

All the ECW shows at the Hammerstein Ballroom were the most fun things I have ever been to. Crowd was incredible during the entire show, ridiculous chants and things going on between every match. Never stopped for the whole show. Wish this still existed. :(

It reminds me of Rock - Hogan at WM. Not just because the crowd is incredibly hot but also because of the way that Cena, like Hogan, finds a way to make it about him.

lol fucking hell. Cena played his role pretty much perfectly. You may as well have just posted "I don't like John Cena."

The whole event was amazing, not just Cena.

I loved the kid punching Orton during his entrance and Orton getting PISSED over it lol, 'Litas a crackwhore' chants and Rey getting booed badly.

Brilliant PPV.

One Night Stand 2006 is one of my least favorite PPVs of all time. Cena vs. RVD was a good match. I just didn't like the event.

Well my favorites currently are John Cena and Randy Orton, which they still are to this day and my favorite female in wrestling of all time is Lita. One thing I never understood is how people cheer Axl Rotten and New Jack, but boo Cena who has good matches in almost every PPV he has been. Cena vs. RVD was a good match. I didn't really like the tag match. At least the fans cheered Angle who deserved it, but cheering Balls Mahoney and guys like that who only can use a steel chair to get through a match is ridiculous. RVD winning didn't bother me as I am a big fan of him, but the way he won with Paul Heyman counting still doesn't make sense to me.

FFS, they explained it that week. The event was an "ECW event" and Paul Heyman was an "ECW official" so he could make the count. Also, the fact that Paul Heyman is the father of ECW it might have a deeper symbolic meaning to have him count the pin as RVD finally becomes a World Champion.

I understood why they used Heyman, because a lot of the PPV buyers/WWE fans are familiar with his face and his affiliation with ECW. But it would have been more logical if referee Bill Alfonso ran down to the ring to make the count for RVD's title win.

EDIT: Ok I'll stop nit-picking. The match/moment fuckin ruled. If only THAT ECW was booked for WWE as its 3rd brand. WWE could have sold out the Hammerstein ballroom once every 3 weeks with smarks, taped 3 shows in one shot, and then send the ECW roster to travel with RAW/SD for houseshows for the rest of the month.

Running a business is no longer that easy once you become a public traded company. There was no way WWE could be affiliated with "THAT ECW" on a weekly basis. That's why I never understood how anyone in the back would think that a watered down version would be acceptable. You gives us to good PPVs, and then totally to the opposite on the weekly shows and expect the same results?

Didn't Hogan lose? When Hogan came out he played the HEEL role, and The Rock played the FACE role, it was the fans that turned them. How did Hogan make it about himself that night?

One Night Stand '06? I know i was watching that i think... Wasn't this the one where Batista went up against The Big Show as well, and he became incredibly pissed off because the crowd was doing nothing but booing him?

I think after the match they got all sad and cuddled for a bit in the middle of the ring.

No, that was a televised event later in the year for the ECW show.

I loved this event. It wasn't a patch on the year before, but some of the matches were incredible.

Cena absolutely deserves credit for his role in this, and I'd like to think he might have actually enjoyed it. His tweets after Bryan-gate gave me the impression he's a decent guy and thorough professional which leads me to believe that he understood the emotion of the occasion and didn't take it personally.

RVD said in the weeks previous to ONS that if he won the title, he'd re-name it the ECW championship.

That shows the difference between Cena and Batista. Cena is a professional that goes out their does his job and doesn't let a hostile crowd though him off. Batista... well... whines about it for weeks afterward.

Well if wanna go ahead and read between the lines. I'm not his biggest fan. Maybe I am being too harsh, because a crowd throwing a t-shirt back is pretty unique and why not interact? It did make for a great moment. Looking back I just thought it was a little much.

I think Cena only went as far as the crowd allowed...which was definitely more than normal, but he didn't do anything at all to kill the match or anything.
