Backstory: Lately I have been watching a lot of Pay Per Views from the 1991 - 1999 time period, and there have just been amazing "happenings" that just needed to be talked about and laughed about. So I made this thread to post about those and all other incidents in the wrestling world that made you scratch your head or say "Did That Seriously Happen?".

1991 WCW Halloween Havoc: Chamber of Torture Match: The way to win is when one member of either team is sat down in the middle of the ring and electrocuted. That ALONE is insane. What made it even more amazing was that during the match, the camera cut to the "switch" and Jim Ross started explaining that if that switch is flipped then the chair electrocutes whoever is sitting in it. While he was talking about it, the switch falls on its own in the "On" position. Then later in the match when Cactus Jack is going up to the switch to flip it, it falls on its own, he flips it back to off, Sting attacks him, it falls on its own, just comedy.

1997 WCW Halloween Havoc: Hulk Hogan vs Rowdy Roddy Piper Steel Cage: This is the one WWF Dubbed "Age in the Cage". So the match starts, and the announcers explain that the winner of this match is whoever the first man to exit the cage is, simple enough. Not so, right after that, Piper and Hogan exit the cage, Hogan is in front so he exits first, nothing. Then Piper wins the match by putting Hogan in a sleeper hold.

1999 WCW Superbrawl: Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair: Masked man comes towards the end of the match while Flair has Hogan in the figure four. From the entrance all the way to the ring, you can hear fans yelling such things as "Hey David, what are you doing?", "That's David Flair!" Just found that to be hilarious.

Ok I will start to post the same ol' stuff over and over again instead of trying to talk about other topics other than John Cena, Nexxus, Wrestlemania or the the hottest rumor posted by Ryan Clark. So that's the norm here I see, if it's out of those boundaries and requires a bit more than a one sentence reply people here seem to not participate. It makes sense though because when I post to those relations that is when the most interest comes.

I have never heard of the 1991 Electrocution Match... That sounds pretty fucking horrible... WCW had it's share of dumbass ideas... But I guess Every wrestling promotions do...

And i for one don't think this thread is too bad vets... I have bever heard of some of these matches...

Off the top of my head, here's a list of things that I just don't understand how any booker/writer/whatever could have possibly thought was a good idea:

-The whole Katie Vick storyline.
-The Donald Trump vs. Rosie O'Donnell match from a few years ago. I think the match actually got like 10 minutes of TV time.
-Mae Young giving birth to a hand.
-Anything involving Big Dick Johnson.
-In WCW, Hogan seeing Warrior in the mirror, but Bischoff not being able to see it. So it was implied that the image was in Hogan's head, yet it could be seen on TV.

Vince McMahon vs. Kevin Wacholz

In case anyone here doesn't know the story, Kevin Wacholz wrestled as "Nailz" in the World Wrestling Federation back in 1992. He was unhappy about the pay off from one of his matches, and he confronted McMahon about it, but McMahon just blew it off, which upset Wacholz became even more. Wacholz attacked McMahon and choked him until he was turning blue. Wacholz was fired because of that incident, of course, and aside from one pay-per-view appearance in WCW against Sting, he hasn't worked in the big time since.

To add another chapter to the story, later at the Vince McMahon steroid trial, Wacholz gave evidence against Vince McMahon but he came off so badly on the stand (including continuously contradicting himself) that word is that his evidence was probably what kept McMahon from serving jail time.

As I've noted before, I can't see any of the videos posted, but I really hate all the stupid shit they do with the props/stages at a lot of the pay-per-views nowadays, and to top it all off, Cena's usually involved in some way as he's usually in the main event match where that sort of thing happens. How many times do we have to see people put through spotlights and "trap doors" in the stage and all sorts of other corny, over-the-top BS before WWE realizes how stupid it is? The latest example of a stupid stunt was this past Friday at the end of SD! Seriously, they couldn't come up with anything more original than having Rey toss Swagger in the Gulf of Mexico only to have him turn around and get chokeslammed into the water by Kane? :nono:

more Rick Steiner insanity. Addendum to it: they had another meeting later that year, if memory serves, in Columbia, SC. They were separated, and most of the boys at this show were a bunch of marks, and most took Rick's side. Walker and the only 2 workers stood up for him ended up changing in a separate room to prevent further altercation.
