View Full Version : merging/transfering data from one profile to another on a 360

I got a 360 a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't remember my router's password so I didn't go online until about an hour ago. When I created my live account it created a whole new one instead of making my original one the live one (I didn't know it created a completely new one).
is there a way to transfer the data to the offline profile to the new one I had to create for Live?
It's not a huuuuuge deal since I've only played Saint's Row 2, but I have 20 or so hours I don't want to play through again. I don't really care about the achievements.
Or at least is there a way to transfer the game data from the first profile to the new one?

Make sure your old 360 has the update that lets you use thump drives as a harddrive and copy it from the old one to the drive, then to the new one.

Useful if he's swapping HDDs, but not for the profile merge he's asking about.

I think I found a way to do it. I have to change the name of my Live profile to something and then change my other one and then maybe delete the first live account, get the first one on Live, take the second profile's name (the one that's on Live) and then jump on my left foot 8 times while singing yankee doodle. I think I also may need to spend Microsoft points to do this too. I don't know. Pretty annoying.

You're gonna spend $10 to keep a game save for a game where you can keep progressing through the game and don't care about achievements? If this is so you can play the online portion of SR2, then just create a new save on the Live enabled account and do that.

I'm not going to spend money to do this. Microsoft sure likes to take your money.
Luckily I'm only going to be losing save data from one game, but it sucks that it's Saint's Row 2.
