I am going with 9.
NOBODY could have played Dan Connor as well as he did. I still watch that show almost every day and still love all of his performances.
His earlier movies might have been hit or miss (enter King Ralph) but I LOVE basically everything he has touched since reaching culture relevance.
My favorite Goodman movies are as follows:
Gigantic - The movie was just so-so but I LOVED him in this.
Monsters, Inc.
O Brother
Bringing Out the Dead - One of my favorite Nic Cage movies and Goodman is a huge plus
Big Lebowski - I mean, comon!
Matinee
The Babe

I know a lot of you may see a 9 as a bit of a rub but seriously I love Dan Connor. He is probably my favorite TV character of all time*.
* - That isn't animated.

9 just seems like a really high rating for Goodman. I mean, he's had some great roles. He's had some real shit ones too. He's a good actor, but c'mon, 9's and 10's are reserved for the elite, aren't they? I wouldn't put Goodman in the elite category.

The way I see it he was never the reason his bad movies sucked. Even in Speed Racer I thought he was good. He was given a job and a character to play and he did it as good as anyone could have.
Even Tom Hanks, who is regaled as Mr. Hollywood has been in some shit movies but at least his performances wasn't what drug it down.

I would give him a 10 for Roseanne. His only real drawback in some of his movies is that his accents are pretty bad. So 8.

I just re-watched Bringing Out The Dead today. Not only was his part smaller than I remember but yeah his New Yowk accent was kind of lame. Still love the fuck out of that movie for some reason. it is just so damn dark and depressing.
i all of a sudden want to change my forum name to Gooman

Nobody mentioned him as the evil coach in Revenge of the Nerds yet? What a great asshole role.
After giving a great powerful speech he sent off his team to the lockeroom.
"Shit, we forgot to practice."
The final pep speech was so intense. It was both epic and sad at the same time.
I'm going to give Goodman a 9, and take off a point for King Ralph.

I give him an 8, mostly for the Dan Conner role. I agree with Miotch, not elite, but one hell of an actor. Plus, he's a fellow Louisianian so maybe I'm a tad biased, haha.

I give him a 10. He's one of those actors that u can tell really loves the profession, respects it, dedicates himself 100%, gives it his all...
...and is really good at it. For his professionalism alone, I give him a 10.
9.
He'd get a 10 if it wasn't for Roseanne. Not saying his performance was bad, but I just hate this show.
