View Full Version : I really want to see John Cena and Chris Jericho fight it out more after the NXT angle

Some of their recent disputes have been some of the best on Raw. probably mostly Jericho's doing, but still, their semi-rivalry here has been great, and I really hope they do have Jericho come after Cena when this is done, and don't forget or make it a idle promise.
Uhhh...Discuss or something?

I agree... But I think I actually smell a Cena heel turn soon... The timing is right... And I know he's the money making machine, but I don't think it will be a long run... You heard it here first...

I agree as well. They're definitely talking like a feud between the two is the plan, but I wouldn't be shocked if they forgot to carry on with it.
I actually thought their match last night was pretty entertaining as well. Jericho didn't look like a little bitch for once.
Until, you know, he tapped out.

One thing that worries me, though...
Jericho's rekindled alliance with Edge doesn't seem like it would have much of anything to do with Cena, unless Edge just feels the same way. It's possible it will turn into Jericho AND Edge versus Cena, which I'm not sure is necessary, but Edge has been pretty good as of late too. I dunno.

If they feud, it'd be great for Jericho to pick up a win against Cena....it has to happen sooner or later....right?

See, I think you missed the point there.
Jericho tapped out IMMEDIATELY before Cena actually had the hold locked in. Cena was confused by it, the announcers were confused by it....then in his segment talking to Edge backstage, they were basically saying that he didn't NEED that match. There was no point for him to even be out there, so he just tapped to end it in lieu of risking injury. I may be looking too far into it, but something was definitely up with his tap out. He had a 'plan' there. He wasn't just submitting.
I was thinking it was more like Jericho losing confidence in his "superiority" over Cena and hence taking the sore loser route afterwards.

That was clearly not the case.
Yes, I realized I missed that promo last night while preparing dinner. That changes everything.

Doesn't Jericho's contract expire soon? I hope Cena doesn't re-retire him.
That was my initial thinking, that he uses this "no motivation to fight" thing to have a kayfabe reason to the WWE Universe and get out of his contract signing. But then Downfall has all but tanked, so I am going the other way now.

Good thing you didn't say wrestle in the same sentence as Cena.

I hope it goes somewhere. Jericho with anyone equals entertainment. Maybe he'll turn against Cena (after re-joining the SS team) in the 7vs7 and that'll spur on the feud?

You know you're the best thing in wrestling when you can make John Cena look good.

If I'm going to have to watch Cena matches as ME (which I am), it might as well be in a feud with Jericho!
As far as a Cena heel turn goes, I guess it could be motivated by Jericho slowly winning, and Cena realising that the WWE Universe isn't helping him win, but is holding him back - taking his concentration!

I agree. Seeing Cena going against anybody but Randy, Bats and Sheamus is a relief.

At least Edge and Cena have a pretty antagonistic history, so it's not right out.
I'm not certain how long that alliance will last, though, given the divisive nature of Nexus. They might pull a truce, but I'm hoping this continues along the path where they fucked up E&CJ a couple weeks back. The message so far has been in the vein of a united front.
And the beatdowns should continue.

I haven't been watching RAW, but I'm thinking that this tension between Team Cena is for one of two reasons: Either to put the Nexus over strong, or it's a swerve and Team WWE are together from the start, but just feigning weakness to lure Nexus into a false sense of security. Next week will probably see Nexus beat-down Edge, Jericho, Cena and Bret Hart leading to Edge & Jericho deciding to be in -- in which case their difficulties will probably still exist and allow Nexus to go over strong at SummerSlam.
At first I hated this, but now that I think about it -- it's kind of good that Jericho hasn't gotten that strong win over Cena. Johnny Boy's sort of Jericho's kryptonite in that regard, and it could lend itself to a potential feud between the two. For Jericho to prove that he is "The Best in the World at What He Does" he actually has to beat Cena.
