perhaps it could be the gimmick that finally makes him a main eventer, have him go around having sex with the mothers of all the faces on RAW, garnering him mad heel heat.

<font color=goldenrod>Yeah I think it'll be The Miz and he'll then turn. I don't want him to be the "leader" of the Nexus, because I don't want Wade Barrett to be overshadowed. But it would make sense if he were the one to put the pieces together, what with him being the "Bobby Knight of NXT" and everything.

He'd have 7 associates to help him when he goes to cash in the title. Also, whenever Daniel Bryan is ready to come back, Miz can quip that he kicked out the ungrateful guy who never listened to him.</font>

This 7th member thing is the perfect way to bring back Triple H and that same night have him turn heel and join NeXus as their leader.

They should even do it like the "Hogan joins nWo" night, have the match start 6 vs 7, and at some point, maybe half-way, have Triple H come out and every one is like "Oh Snap! Triple H is back! NeXus is FINISHED!", and once he enters the ring, he turns on Team WWE and a massacre begins...

If Jericho and Edge are back in, who's out? Khali?

bigslimjj
08-10-2010, 07:55 PM
Khali is out. I'm thinking Miz is a swerve, and The Game is returning to be on the team. H just got off injury so a 7 man match is perfect and keeps him from tearing another quad.

Next Big Thing
08-10-2010, 08:08 PM
A HHH turn sounds like Hogan in '96 and Austin in '01. It's too predictable and the only one who would be excited about that in the long run is HHH.

It seems as if WWE has been building up for Cena to be the swerve. Nexus has consistently targeted him. Jericho has told him every week that he's just as dangerous as Nexus or ruining the company, and they've had him befriend Bret. The impact would be much bigger and the marks would go crazier if Cena turned, especially if he put Bret out in the process.

WWE could do more with that as well and involve fresher faces. If Bret was taken out, the Hart Dynasty could get involved and possibly do something with Skip and and the gay looking one. With Jericho as a face you could do a nice program with he and a heel Cena (their match on Raw was pretty good). Wade Barrett could have a program with Edge.... etc. Henry, Truth, and Morrison could feud with the other two black guys and one white guy.

We've already seen HHH run shit with Evolution, DX, Chyna and her penis... You're limited in terms of unique match ups because we've already seen him in programs with guys like Cena, Jericho, and Edge as a top heel.

If Miz turned I don't think anyone would give two shits. He's barely better than Barrett. They already teased Edge and Jericho going heel, it would be sloppy for them to turn again. Bret hated being a heel and I think that's the last thing he'd want to do in his advanced stage. Morrison would be interesting, but I think Nexus would benefit more from a top guy.

Hogan in '96 was predictable?

XCaliber
08-10-2010, 08:20 PM
I'm sure Triple H will be back at Summerslam but not without getting even with Sheamus first but I doubt they would have him fight in a match the same night. Know Miz is already a heel but in order to get him over even more over as one would be too backstab the WWE Super Team and besdies he is the only 2 time nXt pro. Can't help but think that this is in part the reason why Cole is all of a sudden his biggest mark as of late I still believe he is the anonymous GM he's been humiliated so much over the years and now it's payback time.

Watch the Wrestling with Shadows DVD where he talks about all the good things that the Hitman character stands for and how he contrasts it with Austin's character. I think there was also a shoot interview where he said some of the racial stuff between the Hart Foundation, DX, and the Nation made him uncomfortable because that wasn't who he was.

Predictable as in we've already seen it done with Hogan and Austin.

Technically everything has been done with somebody already. The WWE bases their story lines on certain superstars and than a few years later changes it up with superstar and some similar blueprint behind it.

Sometimes, angles that are deemed by some to be "predictable", are actually what fans WANT to see, and therefore, those same fans will support the product, tune in, etc...so sometimes going with what's "predictable" actually is better.

I can imagine a promo with John Cena coming up to The Miz, but before Cena can get a word out, Miz goes on a tirade, insulting Cena and saying he’s too good for the team. When Miz is finished, Cena calmly says, “All I came to tell you is that we don’t need your services. Someone volunteered for the job, and we went with him instead.” Cena points behind Miz, where there’s Booker T, who then slaps Miz.

It’s brilliant. Slapping Miz alone ensures Booker gets a pop and fuels a Booker/Miz rivalry.

I don't try to understand your political system, our elections last for 4 weeks every 5 years. You seem to only get 4 weeks off talking about someone or something getting elected.

Wouldn't mind seeing Miz in the match, unless of course he's either placed into a last second U.S. Championship defense or something. Hell, they could try to maybe convey that he's joining the match just to make Sheamus and Orton think that whoever wins the title is "safe" from being cashed in on after the WWE Championship match, only to have Miz show up at the end of the night and pick up the pieces of whoever is last and finally secure his destiny as the first ever superstar to have held the U.S. and WWE Championships at the same time.

Since Nexus is seven people, I don't see HHH coming back and being the leader. If it was 2 or 3, maybe, but not 7. Plus, it seems like they're gonna stick with Wade Barrett being the leader of the group. I thought for a while it would be HHH, but I'm thinking that less and less.

Not that it's gonna happen, but how nuts would it be if HBK's music hit?

Is Triple H even ready to return? I guess Bret Hart shouldn't be in a ring, either, so whatever. If it is Triple H, I can't see Team WWE losing or turning heel. Not yet. There will be too much energy about a Triple H return to kill interest right away by turning him heel. You've got to build towards that point where he nails a babyface with a sledgehammer.

Evan Bourne would be my guess. The WWE have cooled their jets with him a little bit, but he's still a guy they like to showcase and has a bright future ahead of him. He's also been linked with Cena in the past. I'm surprised he wasn't on the original team, to be honest.

They could also do some sort of angle where Bret is taken out backstage by Nexus, and The Hart Dynasty suck it up and join Team WWE. But didn't they sort of already right them out as candidates?

The Miz and Ted DiBiase are two guys that normally would make a card and are not already booked. To be honest, The Miz seems like he would be a good choice. He's also got that NXT link, and the history with Morrison (even though they don't get along, they are former two-time Tag Team Champions). DiBiase is someone I could actually see aligning with Nexus. Or just "funding" them. DiBiase himself is a newer guy, and someone the WWE would love to push but aren't really doing anything with for the moment.

John Cena- A John Cena heel turn would be great, but will never happen in the PG era. As good as heel Cena could be and even though it would be great for the adult fans...it is clear that the WWE is not targeting the adult fans anymore. Turning Cena heel to the kids would be like snuffing superman on live TV or someone running out in the middle of a Jonas brothers/Hannah Montana concert and putting a bullet in all of their heads. Vince apparently snapped at a writer and berated him for even suggesting a Cena heel turn.

The Miz- I agree that The Miz could be A red herring. I just don't see Miz as an "oh my god" factor if he came out.

Vince- I think this is a definite possibility, even though Vince said he wants to be done with the Mr. McMahon character. Would make sense for the chairman of the WWE to be on Team WWE. He could also swerve ala Eric Bischoff.

Triple H- Strong possibility of a Summerslam return. I know HHH wants to turn heel something fierce, but he would still have to take Sheamus out...heel or not because Sheamus is still running his mouth about how he took out HHH. Of coarse, HHH could send Nexus to beat the piss out of Sheamus for him as revenge and then Miz cashes in MITB to take Sheamus' title. This would piss off Orton for costing him the title and this would set up HHH vs. Orton.

The Rock- Not going to happen, but I would also splooge down my leg if this happened.

Vince McMahon is actually a pretty good possibility. He says he wants to be done with the Mr. McMahon character, but I think that's rubbish. As long as Vince is alive, he'll be on WWE TV occasionally. They can't pretend Vince is out of commission forever. Vince also thinks of himself as a "big deal." Ever notice that whenever the WWE are worried about ratings, Mr. McMahon is there to make a special announcement, and usually opens the show to get things off to a "roaring start?"

It's kind of sad that he's actually one of the better developed characters in the history of the WWE. The guy can swing from face to heel in one promo and it fits him. The only other guy who would make a big deal is Triple H, but that takes the thunder away from his shit with Sheamus. If Triple H is at SummerSlam, I think it'd be better to use him in the WWE Title Match, getting himself suspended, but costing Sheamus the WWE Title because he really hates the dude (in kayfabe) that fucking much.

They've set-up The Miz as a stand-by guy, but it just wouldn't be the wow factor they are after, either. But from a storyline perspective, I could see it being Evan Bourne, that pissing off Miz, and he actually costs Team WWE the match. Not aligning with Nexus, but just getting back at Cena for looking over him. Then you either do The Miz vs. Cena at Night of Champions (as ridiculous as it seems to have Cena going after the US Title), or Evan Bourne vs. Miz.

I'm sure it will just be a replay of Bash At The Beach '96 where there will be no extra man for the WWE but when it's it winding down and it looks like the Nexus will beat the WWE, Triple H will show up and end up turning on the WWE just like Hogan did in '96 though it won't be as monumental.

Mr. Nerfect

Bret Hart being taken out and seeing Vince McMahon and Daniel Bryan take the 6th and 7th slots would be very epic, and would really fit the storyline.

Wouldn't matter since it's a WWE contract. Danielson can come back to WWE any time they wanted.

Mr. Nerfect
08-15-2010, 12:10 AM
If they do want to bring Danielson back (and I feel that they would), then it's the perfect time to do it. He's got that connection to the Nexus, so if he returns and people don't absolutely shit themselves live, it makes sense from the storyline perspective. Would be a pretty smart way to bring him back.

Then he can turn on Cena and rejoin Barrett and co. :shifty:

I still think its Vinny Mac, the whole Bret + Vince working together angle is big enough for Wrestlemania, let alone Summerslam, if I do say so myself.

Xero
08-15-2010, 12:14 AM
Like I said in that other thread, there's a chance it'll be a member of Nexus switching sides in the match. Could definitely see that.

As it stands, here are my possibilities (not including possible huge swerves):

Triple H
Vince
Danielson (I've heard there are people talking backstage that it could be him)

Or a member of Nexus, possibly Barrett. The way I see it, if Barrett bails on Nexus he can still be heel because it feels like a move Jericho would make in a cowardly way, to guarantee his job.

Mr. Nerfect
08-15-2010, 12:17 AM
Danielson would also work in the sense that he'd be brushing past The Miz for the gig. I'm not sure if someone has mentioned that already, but The Miz could be quite pissy about it, talk some shit about Danielson, and from there you have a feud over the US Title.

Xero
08-15-2010, 12:20 AM
Yeah, that's why I think Danielson is a likely candidate. Even though he won't get the pop some of us would like (he won't, as knowing LA's crowd, they'd probably not know who he is) it would lead straight into his feud with Miz.

Mr. Nerfect
08-15-2010, 12:23 AM
I pretty much entirely agree. Also, in the end, Danielson returns in a big way, yes, but he ends up with the mid-card title on RAW. Not dishonourable, but it's not like he'd be thrust right into the main event. They need to get that belt off The Miz somehow, and there aren't too many guys that The Miz hasn't beaten.

Mr. Nerfect
08-15-2010, 12:36 AM
Because Bret can't take bumps, it might be a good idea to take him out of the match, too. Just show him lying beaten down earlier in the night. Then you can have Danielson and McMahon. One is a mark's surprise, and the other is a smark's.

Xero
08-15-2010, 12:38 AM
I think Bret's in it for the match just to get heat on Nexus during the match. He'll get the sharpshooter spot, then get attacked viciously by Nexus.

<font color=goldenrod>Although I'd mark the fuck out, Danielson's an "I'll believe it when I see it" thing. I know all indications were that WWE liked him and didn't really want to let him go, but I'm not so sure they'd make him the big mystery guy in the main event of the 2nd biggest PPV of the year.

That being said, I do find it a bit interesting that he hasn't posted on Twitter in about 4 days after he normally would make several Tweets a day talking about his training and/or indy bookings.

If he IS back, I'd have to assume he'll be back on the main roster. I wonder if WWE would allow him to pull a Matt Hardy and let him finish up his bookings. I mean, pretty much every indy show he's booked for is advertising him as the top draw. Would suck for them if he couldn't compete, but then again "card subject to change" has always been the rule in wrestling.</font>

<font color=goldenrod>Yeah. He apparently wrestled on a show in NY tonight and he said in his blog that he was returning to Puerto Rico on the 15th (ie: the night of SummerSlam). He's the champion of that company and is in the middle of a big angle with Savio Vega or something.

But, who knows. It's entirely possible that Danielson told all of these promoters that he reserves the right to back out if WWE wants to bring him back.</font>

<font color=goldenrod>Where did you hear that from? Hope it's true.

If it does happen, I kinda want Danielson to immediately turn heel to bring the group back to where it was before. They can say the whole "he felt remorse" thing was just a set-up to lure WWE into a false sense of security with the plan to stab them in the back at SummerSlam.

Certainly would help out the notion that Nexus have everything planned out perfectly. Would also allow for a Barrett/Bryan power struggle in a few months to possibly separate the group at Survivor Series.</font>

Mr. Nerfect
08-15-2010, 01:02 AM
Danielson would lend a lot of credibility to the group. He just makes everything look so crisp, and if they sell him as a killing machine, people will buy. He could say that when he walked away from the company out of respect, he expected a call, but he didn't hear a peep from anyone. The remorse was gone, so he gave Barrett and call, and now he's back in the Nexus business.

You rank Summerslam higher than the Royal Rumble?

But I do agree with you that he isn't a name that most people would go crazy for at the PPV. But outside of HHH, I think if they go with anyone else from RAW, it would have to be Randy Orton.

Rey Mysterio isn't from too far away, and you can have Kane and Mysterio be the match before the 7 on 7... and maybe put Orton and Sheamus out there third.

I don't know what else to really say, because a lot can happen... Orton wins and nothing happens with the Miz, this would give team WWE momentum of having the Champion on their side. Then again, he could lose to the Miz or Sheamus and volunteer to join the team, but then team WWE looks like "losers" and don't look strong.

I don't know. Ultimately, it will be either Miz, Orton, or HHH. I'd be shocked if it was anyone else.

Not sure if it means anything. I'm under the impression that they treat this SummerSlam Axxess event like they do the WM Axxess, in that every contracted performer (except the Undertaker) shows up for autographs and such.

Plus wasn't it only like a month ago that he had surgery? With Sheamus claiming to have ended his career he'd have to finish up that feud first unless they want Triple H to align with the Nexus and then have them break their truce with Sheamus in some odd double turn.

Also, I kinda feel like he'd grow back the beard before returning to television.</font>

Unless he goes on a massive heel run ala 2002-2005. Hell fucking yeah!!!

Also, I think you could explain the Nexus truce thing by having it be Triple H playing mind games. What is going to fuck with you more? Constantly being on the run or thinking you are finally safe just to find out you are in even deeper shit.

<font color=goldenrod>I'm still sticking with my prediction of The Miz being the 7th guy. I think Triple H could very well be the leader of the Nexus, but it just feels like they have loose ends with Sheamus to tie up before he even enters the Nexus storyline. I'm really interested in seeing where this goes.

Xero, did you actually hear the PWInsider audio, or was someone just telling you what was said? If it's the latter I'm inclined to think somebody is just blowing smoke up your ass. Also, I'm expecting the 7 on 7 tag to be the main event. If The Undertaker and Triple H return earlier in the show, wouldn't a Daniel Bryan return then look quite miniscule to everyone other than smarks? I dunno, hope I'm wrong.</font>

The WWE have somehow presented Bryan as a pretty big deal, without him even really needing to prove it. I mean, his first match in the WWE against Jericho was pretty fucking sweet, but he's been mainly perpetuated via myth. Quite an interesting thing to see.

Well, people can say what they want about his look but WWE has found a way to package him as the indy sensation underdog and likeable. Plus when he gets in the ring it's fast paced and intense so people are behind it. It's not going to take much for him to get over if they just stick to what they've done so far.
