The whole Jarrett thing got me thinking. I've met a good bit of wrestlers. If this thread has been done before, I apologize, but who all have you guys met before? I guess moreso, who was cool and who, if any, was a dick?

I've met Bret Hart (like a month before the screw job), Owen Hart, Rey Mysterio, Steve Austin, Mankind, LOD, Jerry Lawler, Greg Valentine and Mickie James.

Only one that was a complete dick was Valentine. Might have been because there were only a few people there to see him, everyone else was there to see Lawler. Not to mention that he reeked of alcohol, so I'm sure that didn't help matters.

There were a couple I've met who were just kinda going through the motions. Only guys that come to mind who were complete jackasses were the Dudleyz. I don't know if I caught them on a bad day or something, but they seemed pretty pissed off.

I'd love to meet Bret. All of those sound like they would be cool to talk to. Valentine just looks like an alcoholic, so I can see that too.

I know one of the superstars personally and because of that have met Ted Dibiase Jr. and Randy Orton before. Ted was super fucking cool, genuinely a nice guy, great convo. He wasn't Hollywood at all. Randy was cool as shit too but in an assholish way lol. I wasn't a groupie around him, just talked to him real chill and he was responsive to that. Both really cool guys. Randy's great at his character, he can seriously turn it on and off.

Met Jericho once, and I told him he needs to put Cena in the Liontamer, knee on the head, and everything. He laughed but said he wants to keep his job and didnt want to risk injuring Cena. He said that Liontamer would be like Kryptonite. I think I got him to open up by telling him I listened to Fozzy, which I do.

Paul London is INSANE. Brian Kendrick is mad cool. Kofi was cool as shit, genuinely nice guy, so was Dolph, as well as Striker. Cole was kind of a dick, but I think he was just in a bad mood. Trips was really cool. I told him that I stopped watching wrestling from 2003 to 2007 because he was always in the main event with the belt and I knew he was going to go over almost every time. He laughed and said those days are over, he "promised." I met Barrett while he was in FCW, and he was genuinely a nice guy, silly and ALWAYS cracking jokes in the locker room apparently. Same with Miz, but he was cool too.

Really everyone I've ever conversed/met was cool except Cole. Taker was kind of an asshole too, but he wasn't a dickhead, you could just tell he didn't know me and wasn't up for convo at the time.

Oh and Maryse in person....sweet Merciful Jesus. She's nice too. Very down to earth. Ohhh and IRS is a douchebag and I mean that sincerely. Theres more but I'll post em later when I can remember.

Please do man all these stories are interesting. I've got a buddy who is distant cousins with the Undertaker, and you must have caught him on a bad day; he's usually pretty cool.

I actually met Ted DiBiase Sr. way back in the day when he was going around the country to churches. (I think he still does that.) Really cool guy, talked to my dad about old school mid-south and what not.

Your Randy Orton story I've heard from a lot of people, if you just chill with him and don't act like a mark he's pretty cool. Haven't met him yet, though.

Jericho's near the top of my list of people I wanna meet. Always been a Jericho fan, more in WCW than anything.

I'm from Louisville,Ky and as everyone knows OVW used to be the training ground for WWE. This made wrestling fans like me lucky because it gave us the oppotunity to see the WWE's main roster more often then most. Since they we're down here doing special apperances at the local OVW tv tapings and shows at Six Flags, they would also be booked for signings around the area as well.

I met The Undertaker at an Auto show and he was cool as could be. A drunk idiot in line kept yelling "Stone Cold kicked your ass, Stone Cold kicked your ass!" over and over. Everyone in line was getting tired of this jerk-off. The taker heard him too and stood up. He replied back to him "Stone Cold may have, but you can't,so shut the fuck up before you make me walk back there". The dude shut the fuck up,and I marked the fuck out! When it was my turn i told him about seeing him as The Master of Pain at CWA shows here and he said he loved the area. He signed some stuff for my brother and me and was extremely nice to MOST of the people. lol.

Also two of my friends saw Big Show when WWE sent him down here to lose weight. OVW did a meet and greet for their Christmas show and a friend got a ticket. While at the event they were smoking and Big Show walked up and bummed a Cigarette. My friend gave him one and said that his hands were so big the cig looked like a burning toothpick. He said Show was extremley chill and overly nice to the fans there.

I've never actually met a wrestler face to face before but on the 28th of August I'm hoping to meet Ted DiBiase and possibly Sunny as they're both going to be at a local indy show in my hometown.

Though I have to be at the event really early as apparently the tickets to the Q&A/Autograph Session are sold at the door on a first come first served basis. :-\

Alright a few more

Big Show was really cool, down to earth. We had a talk about guys in the locker room, he said Randy, Cena, Batista, and Mark Henry always do shit for the guys in the locker room. He said it's seriously like a brotherhood past some of the politics. He said Batista, while a super fucking cool guy, loves to bitch all the time. He doesn't nag, just complains. He said Randy and Cena are actually really good friends.

I met Cena. Aside from Ted Dibiase and Kofi he's probably the nicest guy, its pretty much a three way tie. He was in the middle of something and he stopped what he was doing and paid attention to me and my kid brother. My kid brother is a huge Cena fan and still talks about it to this day. Cena was a genuinely nice guy, and since I'm into the music as far as production is concerned, we talked about that mostly. It was cool to see that he genuinely cares; I even told him how much I hated his on screen character, and he vented that the character limits his in ring moveset/persona. He wants to "wrestle" but it somewhat conflicts with the personality of his character. I asked him about a heel turn and he laughed and said "sooner than you think, but you never know" But if it EVER happens, it'll be sooner than I thought lol.

And Christian is fucking funny as shit and so is Santino. Randy and Santino are actually best friends. King was cool. I saw Stephanie and her tits were looking amazing. LOL I went up to Kozlov once and was like "And if he dies. He dies." and he didn't find it funny at all.

R-Truth and I are from the same city and we're both brothers so we had similar stories. I met him and Morrison at the same time, and they were both down to Earth. Somehow I haven't met Edge yet. I saw HBK but didn't speak, he looked busy. Rey was kind of a douche. All of Nexus is cool as shit, but I met them before they were assembled as Nexus. Out of all of them, Tarver and Barrett have to be the funniest, which is ironic.

I think I had the best convos with Cena, Kofi, Ted Jr., Truth, and Triple H. Cena and Trips are wrestling HISTORIANS. Kofi is a nerd but in a dope way; he loves video games and comic books and we both share a distaste for the Spiderman reboot. I was telling Ted how well he did in The Marine 2 and he really appreciated it.

I think thats it...I spoke to Sheamus briefly once...he has the accent, but not nearly as strong and he does say fella, which I completely marked out for. He said "You look a little lost, fella." Nice guy though.

Aside from Australian wrestlers, I've been fortunate to meet a few internationals coming over for big tours.

For the first one, I've met Super Dragon, Frankie Kazarian, Samoa Joe, Test, Nathan Jones, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Gail Kim, Nidia and Aaron "Jesus" Aguilera. As I mentioned in a past thread, Test was extremely nice and made a point to make everyone happy he met, signing whatever was given and shooting the breeze with everyone. He seemed really happy to be there. Joe looked extremely wrecked from the flight but perked up when he saw my Samoa Joe Millenium World Tour shirt and told me I was invited to his wedding. I vaguely remember Gail asking why she didn't get an invite which made Joe stammer a bit. Really, everyone was happy to see the people... everyone except Super Dragon, who had his mask on. Not to say he was a dick, but he seemed distant, reserved and not big on making conversation.

For the second one, I had the chance to meet Bryan Danielson, Austin Aries, Nigel McGuinness, Kid Kash and Billy Kidman. Kash was... well, Kash. His personality seemed to bounce from person to person. He seemed cold and indifferent to some people, others he was playful and happy to talk to. Kidman was happy to be there and even though I embarrassed him by getting him to sign an old WCW photo (http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/pictures/b/billykidman/28.jpg) (McGuinness to his right saw the photo and didn't hesistate to rib the shit out of him "Who's the pretty boy in that photo, Billy?"), he seemed happy to be there, despite recently splitting with Torrie.

Aries and McGuinness were friendly enough. Can't say I had a negative experience with them, Nigel had to put up with a LOT of Pom jokes. But what about Danielson? I didn't see one person who talked to him and didn't come away smiling, but there was something in his eyes. You could tell that he was taking everything in, analysing and studying people, the area. It was almost intimidating to talk to him and not because he was somewhat of a celebrity, but just this look he gave you. It's hard to explain. Perhaps someone else who's met him can relate or say different.

Met Matt Striker after Fatal Four Way in the parking lot. Incredibly cool guy. Shook his hand and got his autograph. Only one who took the time to sign. Stayed for like 45 minutes, took the time to sign as much as he could, talked to everyone. Definitely had that teacher vibe when he was talking to the kids.

Met Kennedy and Ted Jr. at DVD signings. They were both pretty cool.

Was totally thrown off with Ken, as his co-star was there and I didn't really know he would be. They were both nice, though.

I told Ted I had gotten engaged & was celebrating by meeting him. He was genuinely excited about it and we talked about married life for a bit haha

Ummmm there have been quite a few I have met actually. Brutus and Honky were the two hilarious nights tho. Oh and The Highlanders were with Brutus and all of us. Lanny Poffo is a fag.

I also met a lot of older guys at the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame Induction this year. Davey O'Hannon, Jimmy Snuka, Stan Hansen, Johnny Rodz, Pete Sanchez, Dick Woehrle (referee), Domenic DeNucci among others. Hanging out in the hotel bar with them was so much fun.

Rodz and Sanchez were hilarious because they were hard to understand.

Woehrle was so entertaining because he made fun of everyone. Hell of a handshake for an 81 year old.

Hansen was super nice, was really grateful that so many people came.

Snuka was...interesting. One of the guys said: "Sometimes he'll invite you into his world, other times he'll come join ours." Definitely out there, but really nice.

I loved being able to hang out with the older wrestlers (as opposed to just getting a quick picture) because I got to hear all their great stories.

Update: Got a chance to meet Edge and HBK not too long ago. Both were genuinely cool guys. HBK is super humble (15 years ago, me saying that would have been crazy) as well as Edge. Finally had a conversation with Sheamus and that guy, bar none, is probably one of the smartest in terms of Wrestling IQ and is DEFINITELY one of the most charismatic next to Barrett. Got a chance to have a convo with Barrett too, and if its not already obvious, the guy is a fucking natural. He said, and I quote "The biggest thing with the Nexus angle has yet to happen. Just wait."

I've met Undertaker na few occasions, usually after Mainas.

Met Edge and Lita, and I had to force myself to not stare at her chest. I think I strained a neck muscle.

Met Samoa Joe once, which was really weird. I was at the Las Vegas airport waiting for a friend, and this big dude walked by, and just flopped down in the chair. I glanced over. I looked again. Scratched my head. Pulled out my PSP and did a quick Google Image search to make sure. And before I could look at him again, I hear, 'Hey man, what games you got?' At first, I didn't realize he was talking to me. I turned again, and asked him if he was Samoa Joe, he said, 'Yeah man. What games you got?' But before I could answer, the friend I was waiting on smacked me in the back of the head with his duffel bag.

Me and Cones met quite a few of the TNA guys at house show a couple of weeks ago.

Had a short conversation with Orlando Jordan, he was a really cool guy. He wears these friendship bracelets that fans from around the world have given him. Seems really appreciative of all the fans.

Matt Morgan was kind of a cock, he had some "I'm better than you" attitude while he was signing stuff.

I thought Earl Hebner was kind of a cool guy, had a little hint of an attitude, but nothing major.

The rest of the locker room was kind of just signing stuff, they were all pretty cool, Madison Rayne was really nice. Doug Williams and Jay Lethal were pretty cool, Eric Young, James Storm, Robert Roode seemed to have an attitude that night. Don West was running around all over the place, he was an alright guy.

Bumped (literally) into Kurt Angle at O'Hare airport in 2003, he was a lot more soft-spoken than I thought he would be - he was really nice though.

Ken Shamrock was a San Diegan native when I was in 6th grade. My dad is a mechanic for SDG&E, and used to build hot rod engines on the side. Shamrock knew a coworker of my dad's and wanted to have his 69 Camaro engine rebuilt, and the guy forwarded Shamrock to my dad.

I eventually got to meet Shamrock at his house, got free autographed 8x10s, tickets to a house show, and of course the obligatory photo op. Also got some Lion's Den t shirts and tanktops.

He was a pretty cool guy from what I remember. Real easy going.

Jeff was being a dick and Shannon came over and said what's up. Bout a 5 minute conversation just saying I thought what he did in the ring (2006 btw) was good work and I liked watching him. I met a few guys from a few years ago when the WWE came to do a survivor series tour in the Uk. Long story short my dad is a coach driver, he took them to their hotel from Manchester airport, we met him there and the wrestlers when they got there, HBK was quiet but signed autographs for us, we was later told that HBK was going cold turkey so was a little stand offish.

Taijiri was there, he bowed for me when i got his case out of the coach for him, and Maria was there. Ric Flair had his own private limo from the airport and didnt travel with the rest so never met him but thought it was awesome he lives that lifestyle. John Cena went straight to the arena from the airport so didnt meet him either. Trevor Murdoch was there with HHH, who i have to say was freakin huge in person.

My dad got to go backstage with the wrestlers but we wasnt allowed authorisation but he only had good things to say about the guys, he became quite friendly with Ric Flair and held his robes for him whilst he was backstage with him. He also told us the wrestlers took hundreds of beers with them in ice boxes, and in fact HHH was completely smashed when he went out that night to wrestle. But he was a good guy on all acounts. My dad also said Viscera was with them, he bought a large vegetarian pizza to himself and he was so huge that he couldn't get on the coach from the front, he needed to get through the emergency exit at the back lol.

Suveniers i managed to wangle, well we was told due to legelities with the WWE, wrestlers couldnt sign our replica belts unfortunately :( but we had signitures from a few guys, there was plent of beers left behind which i managed to liquidate :) Ric Flair's room key from the hotel he stayed in was left with a dossier folder of the tours details. Two rolls of tape from HHH that he uses to tape his wrists, and my favourite, Kanes black beanie hat lol if he wants it back, im not going to argue lol.

Anyway good time all in all and nothing bad to say about any of them really, just wanted to pass my experience on really

I have met a ton of wrestlers.

I've met most of them at a local restaurant in Chicago, and also arriving at various arenas in the area.

The first time I met any wrestlers was in October 2001, in Valparaiso Indiana. Nothing special, met Billy Gunn and Big Show. They were playing football outside, then they signed and posed for everyone.

June 2002, we met Lance Storm, Hurricane, and Edge- I told the story here before that we saw a guy who looked like Funaki, and it wasn't...

September 2002 same place, we see Lance Storm- and he points out the guy we thought was Funaki. I was shocked he remembered since they are on the road so much. It was also the first time I met my favorite all time wrestler, Christian. They signed everything we had for them. Great guys.

January 2003. Met Maven, Orton, Batista, Rosey and I forgot who else. This was just memorable because we went to the same gas station they did, and Rosey was in there buying condoms. He walked in, asked the cashier for "rubbers" but the cashiers english wasn't great so he was like "condoms man, I need condoms."

April 03. Met a few guys. Rey Mysterio was really drunk. I think I also met Nidia and Dawn Marie hard to keep track of things. I remember Rikishi wasn't friendly at all.

September 2003- The motherload. RAW was in Chicago, Smackdown had a house show in Indiana...so after the show a ton of RAW stars and divas were at this restaurant, and all of a sudden a whole bunch of Smackdown stars were there. So in one day, I got Kurt Angle, John Cena, Randy Orton, Tajiri, Funaki (for real this time), Christian (who main evented in the ladder match with RVD, who I also met this night), and a ton of other wrestlers. Randy Orton and Cena hugged it out a little, good friends in OVW I think.

February 2004- Molly Holly, Trish Stratus all signed. Also Rico. No one special. Although I became a big fan of Molly after this.

April 2004- Molly remembered me! I was a pathetic teenager at the time and sent her a letter and she said "Hello Joe" when she saw me. I made her a poster. Its funny and pathetic. We actually corresponded for a while after this. She was in a wig. Also met Al Snow- he signed his card for himself and "Head".

Afterwards, went to the restaurant- and this night pretty much ended the reign at the restaurant. It was either Lita or Matt Hardy's birthday. They had a cake, and went around the restaurant offering everyone a piece of cake. White cake. Not my favorite, but when is Lita ever going to offer me any other kind of pastry? So I took a piece and saved the candle. Its cool to have a memory like that. But, then Lita and Matt smashed some cake in each others faces and left a huge mess. So that was that.

Also, Stacy Keibler was there. Nice. She had me go up to Randy Orton and call him Randall. So, I did. He didn't care. He just said "Who told you to call me that?" So I narked on Stacy.

I must have met quite a few people between 2005 and now, but the dates get a little mixed up. Met HBK at a book signing. Met Kane quite a few times over the years, great guy. Kofi is a good guy, Matt Striker is very friendly as some other posters on this thread have already said. Met Edge a month ago, posted that pic on a thread. R-Truth is cool. Jeff Hardy was pretty cool- hated the guy until I met him.

Maybe I'll post a ton of pics on the picture message board on here so you all can see...and to keep my memory fresh!

I have met a couple of legends like Piper, Snuka, Animal, Valentine, Steamboat and Dusty at conventions and FCW shows. All super cool guys. Specially Steamboat. Piper is just a fucking riot. Dusty is fun as hell. I went to an FCW show and there was an after party and Dusty stayed to hang out the whole night. Great guy.
I met Chris Jericho back in 2003 after a Fozzy Show. Very cool guy. Very willing to share and discuss things with the fans too. It was actually a metal festival and Jericho stayed around after his band played. He hung out with the audience and watched the show. Real cool.
Met the Undertaker. Can't say much except that he was real nice. There was over 100 people there so i got to talk to him for like 30 seconds.
Rey i met earlier this summer. Another real cool guy. very down to earth. i noticed he was very friendly with the kids. Seems to know they look up to him. Just an overall pleasant guy to be around.
Besides for that, I have met a lot of the current Nexus guys and FCW superstars. Can't say anything negative about any of them.

Met flair on three seperate occasions, and he was a dick everytime. Didn't even look at me.

J.R., on the otherhand, was the man. He was doing a signing to promote his new BBQ sauce. He was taking time to have a couple words with everyone, and this prick that works for the location standing behind him whispers something about "moving it along faster". J.R. whips around and yells at the guy "These people stood outside in the rain to see me, and I'll take all the damn time I want!" Fucking awesome.
