View Full Version : RVD's Harsh Comments

Rob Van Dam posted the following on his website RobVanDam.com in regards to the Hardcore Justice PPV:

"I'd imagine a lot of the old TNA guys are feeling like they're taking a back seat. The thing is...you can't argue with the numbers.
Last week TNA broke new all-time records for ratings! TNA needed a change. The 6-sided ring and the great technical wrestlers -that nobody knew-wasn't working. TNA brought in two rock stars, and look at the company now! Dixie often points out how hiring Jeff Hardy and RVD started a whole new era, why do some of the wrestlers not see it? Too, young, too green, too selfish to have the correct perspective. Whereas some of the TNA "stars" are lucky to get recognized walking around the studios, Jeff and myself live like actual celebrities, signing autographs and taking pictures EVERYWHERE we go. Without experiencing this, it's probably hard to imagine. In fact, very few wrestlers stick out in people's minds the way that Jeff and I do. WE love our fans and we love their love.

TNA is blowing up. Good things will come our way and I see it all happening now. This is a very exciting time. More people watching TNA means more people exposed to the other wrestlers on the card too...as long as they're good enough to hang around with the rising standards."

Keyfabe?

At first glace I thought this was call RVD's Hash comments.

RVD giving the rest of the locker room a big middle finger.

bet that was a response to A.J.'s comments

Hopefully that is kayfabe, otherwise, he was probably high writing it, because it's CRAZY to do that to your fellow co-workers.

and then TNA has Abyss murder him on Impact.

Hmm

Wow seriously. If that isn't kayfabe I've lost a ton of respect for RVD.

Why? I mean, while it may be harsh - he's completely right.

Sounds like he's pointing out on whats happening rather than being a dick. RVD and Jeff Hardy do have *a lot* of fans and with them being in the company, people tune in to see them and then they get exposed to AJ Styles and the other guys and so on.

I don't see the big fuss about his statement.

That's a pretty dick statement and more about him patting his own back than pointing out the changes being made in TNA and the collateral benefits that come from he and Jeff's involvement.

wow if this isn't Kayfabe then RVD just lost himself a big time fan cause that is just about the most assholeish comment I've ever heard.

Kayfabe or not he is right about the original TNA wrestlers. They haven't drawn a dime.

It's all true though.

If you had a choice between watching Rob Van Dam or Eric Young or Kiyoshi ... who are you going to pick?

Plus, TNA is building up TNA home-grown stars too.

RVD continuing to prove why WWE was right in not doing shit with him for all those years, as if getting fucking caught with drugs after winning the WWE Championship and relaunching an entire fucking brand around him wasn't enough despite years of him bashing his employers.

And with this "new direction," they never will.

funny how that's a self-fulfilling prophecy, innit?

RVD....the guy that will dislocate his own arm patting himself on the back. No surprise.

My thoughts exactly Knight... And kayfabe or not, this statement rings true boys & girls of the forum... RVD has never been one of my favs... Early career was amazing, but he always spoke the truth, even if it burns a bridge or two, while blazing a trail or blunt along the way... Cocky sum biatch though...

LOL

Ah whatever, so RVD's ego is coming into play in the general online opinion of "The Whole Fuckin Show". Well RVD is right he and Jeff Hardy have fans that would try to watch them anywhere they wrestled, however, they both don't really do jack shit for PPV's sales, wasn't the buy rate for the last one like 10,000.

CAN I GET A WITNESS

Other thoughts... RVD is still pretty great, and I really liked Abyss murdering him on Impact!, that was fucking sick and it seemed like something you'd see in a modern horror film. Quite disturbing in an obvious way, and I've never really seen something that brutal suggested on a wrestling show in a long time. Well, scratch that I did see McMahon get blown up by a Limo . Anyway, WWE would NEVER do the angle TNA just ran with Abyss and RVD. It was just really shocking and unexpected for me. At least the suggestion of it. We all know there were not gashes visible and it looked liked someone poured a bucket of bad fake blood on him. BUT to me the acting of it by RVD (yeah I know he was out but it was good anyway) and Abyss was good enough to draw me in and suspend my disbelief so I enjoyed it. While at the same time knowing as a person that RVD was no just murdered by a guy welding .... fucking Janice. What a horrific weapon that is really getting Abyss over, with me at least. Plus he isn't so fat these days.

Jeff Hardy is a disappointment to us all, he is in a bad stage of his career/life at the moment it seems. Come on dude, you were really fucking good before, why do you have to be such a fucking cheese dick? Your music SUCKS, you are not a talented musician and I am sure you art isn't any better. You have been and can be a fantastic phenomenal successful pro wrestling, fucking do it right. Take off that ugly off putting make up and be the Jeff Hardy everybody wants. Not some weird guy you'd feel uncomfortable sharing the shower with.

(Not in a gay way, think about it)

Strong words from a guy about to take time off.

After saying things like that you'd think he'd want to go out and really prove how true it was, not go home, sit on his ass, and smoke pot.

What Would Kevin Do?
08-14-2010, 01:44 AM
He may be "right" in a sense, but he's not going to make any friends saying shit like that. Yeah, you and Hardy are big time, but you don't throw half the talent in the company under the bus and make them look like nobodies. Especially since people like AJ Styles are pretty much in the same spot he was back in the 90's when he was in ECW.

So RVD is pretty much saying to former WWE stars are the ones who holding TNA up, while guys like Abyss, AJ Styles, The Pope, and Jay Lethal are nothing?

Yea, bet he's a well liked guy.

Wow that's a bold statement but it does have some validity. Hardy was freakin over huge last year so he does bring in fans.People have missed seeing RVD since he left WWE. The thing is before they got there TNA did a rating of like 1.8 million for three of four weeks in a row. No Hogan,Hardy,RVD or any other new talent. TNA originals were the ones getting over and they killed it like they always do. TNA kind of dick rides WWE stars anyway. Any time someone comes down there it's big news to them and the asylum originals get pushed down. A.J. is the perfect example of them basiclly saying "You guys are good.but your not big time." Which is bullshit.

The only reason any of those big name draws are in TNA is because they are fuck-ups.

RVD: Drugs
Jeff Hardy: Drugs
Angle: Drugs/Batshit Insane
Nash: Quads/Asshole
Hogan: Piece of shit human being

It's their less-than-clever way to bypass WWE's rights to ECW.

I think its keyfabe. I believe that's why the TNA guys came out on IMPACT and beat the crap out of the older ECW guys. Probably just to get the internet smarks to talk about somethin. It worked.

If they really want to they easily could just put it (The Blog) on the titantron. And have the TNA guys say that that was their reason to attack the EV2.0 guys.
