In your opinion what was the worst year in wrestling between 2000-2009?

The ruthless aggression era was just godawful. Vince's illegitimate son is a leprachaun...

Thank you and goodnight.

2003 or 2005 as the worst single year.

2003 because RAW was very stale especially in the main event scene.

2005 was a bad year because it was coming off the hot 2004 year and fell apart since Smackdown got gutted in the draft and declined while WWE kept pushing RAW as their main brand at the cost of overall quality.

This is really hard to choose

2003 Reign of Triple H, however smackdown was really good.
2004 Raw is still about HHH even though Benoit holds the title for a bit, JBL is Champ for far longer than he should have been.
2005 Super Cena, Batista.
2006 DX vs Spirit Squad. Rey Mysterio Becomes Jobber while champion

2007 in TNA it was basically Total Non Stop Angle you know because thats when he had ever fucking title. That it was non stop Vince Russo bullshit to the EXTREME.

WWE after Wrestlemania 23 that company took a nose dive. The only good thing and I mean the only good thing was The Undertaker and Batista.

It was very terrible. But I have never been so uninterested in this company, not even when Bob Backlund was champion the last time.

Yep,and I voted correctly for 2009. But I feel as if this year in WWE has already been worse then last year. I know we still have time left but wwe has become stale and boring. See that's my OPINION. Thanks for the input though chief.:y:

By far 2009 was the worst year last decade. Raw was very much unwatchable post Wrestlemania, storylines made absolutely no sense, the world title swiches were pointless, the shows were confusing as hell, and don't even get me started on the Guest Host crap that they've been doing. HBK vs Taker at WM25, Jericho vs Mysterio at The Bash, The Miz being pushed and JeriShow were the only good things in wrestling that year, everything else was garbage.

I've watched wrestling for the last 15 years, minus a nine month strech in 2004 because it was so fucking bad. And with no competition to turn to (TNA and ROH weren't really available at that time) I just turned it off.

Honestly, JBL, 'The French Tinkler', Eugene and other retards were getting pushed in 2004. 2004 also began the John Cena superman push, we all know how that turned out.

I didn't watch consistently from 2003-2005 but none of that sounds as bad as the solid year of guest hosts on Raw in 2009.

2009 had Jericho vs. Steamboat and Jericho vs. Mysterio X 2, so I'm going to let that year pass barely dispite the terrible guest hosts.

2003 sticks out as the year I went off the product for a bit. Then Wrestlemania 20 rejuvenated my interest in 2004 and have watched it solid since.

2007 sticks out to me.

Sure, maybe the guest hosts sucked last year but overall I enjoyed the product. I'm looking at the highlights of the years here, and not the negatives.
I think 2007 gets my vote.

I didn't really care for the McMahon-Helmsley era. So, I'm going to be voting for the year 2000.

The concept of Get your ass kicked or get your ass fired really didn't appeal to me. It also was the first year without Stone Cold Steve Austin as a competitor since he became the face of the WWE Attitude Era.

Also with a Wrestlemania PPV in 2000 which only featured one singles match which was Kat vs. Terri. It felt that they were really just making time before Stone Cold could come back and take the company by the reigns again.

Even Angle winning the WWE title in October wasn't enough to fully save the year. So, I vote for 2000.

Each year has at least ONE moment that was cool, so...IDK...can't vote...

...I was tempted to vote 2004, but that year at WM20 Undertaker came back as "The Phenom", so...

2000 and 2001, just by virtue of the fact that they represent mid-to-late Attitude era shouldn't even be eligible. Things really started to downslide after WrestleMania X8 in early 2002, however 2003 was absolutely horrendous IMHO, and I agree with Smelly Meatball that part of that is how stale 2003 was save for Evolution post early February of that year when they were formed. Don't really remember much else about that year in particular in WWE history except for a bunch of terrible shows and moments.

2002 and 2003 were pretty frustrating at the time, based on what fans were accustomed to at that point, but honestly looking back on them now they were pretty good in a lot of areas.

2005 when Jericho got fired was when I stopped watching, but it had been going downhill since 2001. I actually enjoyed RAW during that four year span. Smackdown became unbearable not too long after the first draft. Something about the blue/wrestlers on the show at the time. 2006 I guess.

Well, four 16 Oz Narragansett beers will do that.

This poll tells me one thing, we need the vault back to watch all of the years to find out what truly was the downfall.

I think I will change my vote to 2006 though because of the Vince, Shane, DX and the Holy Spirit Squad.

My vote goes for 2005. That was the beginning and birth year of Super Cena and 5 years later he is still saving WWE from the likes of everyone and dominating everyone with the exact same gimmick that he was using since that year when he won the WWE title from JBL at Mania.

2003 I can't vote against because that was the year of Mania XIX and 2003 had Brock Lesnar matches, Angle matches, I mean you have Rumble 2003 with Benoit/Angle which was a wrestling dream match. The stories might not have been completely memorable but the wrestling that year... top notch.

But 2005 was the beginning of the end for all that would be good with the super unearthly push of John Cena.

Whichever year saw JBL as a top face on Raw, shortly before his metamorphisis.

I was actually thinking about this while watching Raw because I was saiyng to myself how awesome Raw has been this year. I haven't been this into wrestling since '05.

'07-'09 was the "please kill me now" years. But whatever the one year was when babyface DX just ran all over everyone takes the cake. horrible. think it was '08

Probably 2005, but the problem is every year had it's fair show of good and bad, so can't really pick one specific year as the worst. 2007 had a lot of crap going on as well. But at least Triple H was away for half of it.

02,03 and 04 were great from Smackdowns side, especially in that order.

Surprised James Steele voted 2003 seeing as though he loves HHH.

I liked '05 becuase they had a hot angle with HHH/Bats going into Mania and following it. Cena was only in his first reign, so he wasn't bad yet. JBL was a refreshing heel. Eddie hadn't died yet I don't believe. And I think Angle was still there, right?

Eddie died in November in 2005 while Angle got moved to Raw after the 2005 Draft. Cena started to get the crowd hating him by late 2005 with his switch to RAW and during his first feud with Jericho.
