Recommend me a really good headset with good sound and really clear mic that you don't have to talk loud or put your mouth close to. I'm looking at something under $100 and preferrably under $75.

My current headset is a Sennheiser PC150 and it's kind of big and gets flimsy to where it won't hold good on my head. I don't like the cloth padding and I guess the mic isn't that good. I wanted the Sennheiser PC350 but wasn't sure it was worth the $120 price tag. My camera mic is pretty good but since it's close to the speakers and can pick up ambient noise well, which there is a lot of around me, it's not always ideal for me.

I got the wireless Plantronics 995 for about $35 off ebay. Works like a charm, and I have no issues with it.

There's nothing you don't like about it or anything? How long is the charging time and use time? I keep getting my headset cord stuck in my chair wheels so wireless might be where I'm headed.

Do you want this for gaming?

Gaming and chatting. Mostly chatting. I mean I don't really care for incredible sound in gaming like hearing exactly where footsteps are or where a certain noise is unless it's a $75+ headset.

Sorry, can only find UK.

I have these. Fucking awesome. They ruled on COD4. Not as good on BC2, but ofc it's down to the studio also. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-033-SL - USB, so the 5.1 is onboard the phones.

Never heard of what? Jesus christ. You're one of them "brand boys"?

Speedlink are reputable and sponsor many events. I won some Speedlink's playing BF2142. They weren't anything on these though..

I can be but usually I research a product as much as I can and read the reviews and most of the time I'm satisfied with what I buy but in this case with the Sennheiser I am not. I wish I could "test drive" everything but I can't.

Well I am fully recommending these. They're 5.1 (onboard the USB too), they have awesome bass and providing the game is well done, they are freakin' awesome in games. The mic is sensitive also, pics up very well.

I haven't found anything bad about it so far. Charging time is about 1-2 hours at max and gives you around 6-7 hours of use time. You can mute the mike by just raising it and it converts to just a headset.

It works fine on Vista, so ignore most of the negative reviews talking on it.

Plantronics and Sennheiser make some good USB headsets. Really would only get a USB headset if you want quality, and only from a few brands. Tend to find that anything with normal audio jacks tend to be sketchy on voice quality.

Plantronics is a large supplier of call center headsets. Sennheiser is good, but it depends on what model you buy. The ones you have may just be of lesser quality than their others. Love my Sennheiser headphones.

Also, the PC350's are supposed to be pretty good as far as headsets go. Wouldn't mind a pair myself.

A bit more than 100- but you get what you pay for with audio.

Good stuff. Will report back in 6 months to a year if I actually get a headset.

I have other stuff to get before I would get a new headset such as a new PSU as the current one I have is inefficient and makes me room hot and a new monitor. Usually I like to look at stuff for a really long time before pulling the trigger on a purchase.
