View Full Version : I'm sick of pay per views.

Not the idea of pay per views. That's fine.
In my eyes, though, a pay per view is supposed to leave you with results and storyline conclusions. The free TV is the build, and the pay per view is the pay off. All too often, PPV matches have been ending in DQ or no contest through interference, and it's quite infuriating. It's like I just paid for an extra hour of Raw.
This probably wouldn't be so much of a problem if there weren't SO MANY PPVs, but I know that's not going to change, so this thread is completely pointless. I just wanted to get that out of my system. Thanks for your time.
It's even worse that they throw away PPV matches on TV. TV seems to be all they REALLY care about, and PPVs are just continuations of storylines which end on TV.

That's true too.
Another frustrating thing is that the PPVs that I think are going to be awesome usually end up sucking. However, the ones I have low expectations for end up being pretty decent. Maybe that has something to do with my expectations themselves, but it's still annoying.

It can get pretty lazy sometimes. It seems like the only way they can stretch to a rematch for the next PPV is by a DQ finish. Which is okay on rare occasions, if it's a hell of a match. But it does happen way too much.

There was really news about that but it seems that it died down.

I agree. I used to think that it was all about the next PPV but lately more things happen on MNR before and after a PPV. I ended up not ordering SummerSlam and I dont feel I really missed anything.

It doesnt help much when they only get 8,000 buys for their PPVs (Sacrifice and Slamiversary). That doesn't even come close to covering the costs of doing a live PPV. They need like 20,000 for a PPV at the impact zone and 30,000 for one on the road.

RAW has always had an ass-fuck load of DQ's/screwy finishes and while it sucks, it's to be expected. But having two matches at Summerslam end with that kinda shit was fucking annoying. I managed to feel ripped off even without paying for it. Wrestlemania seems to be the only show immune from this. At least the main events anyway.

which is why tna just needs only 3 or 4 ppv's a year give a fued 3 months to build an people will want to watch that ppy, an with the economy the way it is people can not aford more then 2 or 3 ppv's a year.

UGH. Just looked at WWE's website, and Hell In A Cell is only 2 weeks after Night of Champions. That's going to lead to some incredibly rushed storylines and awful matches for sure, but oh well.

Just don't pay for them. Stream them like any normal red-blooded American should. They are NOT worth the money.

I never do pay for them. I go to the bar and watch them all. Still it seems pretty ridiculous to not have at least 4-5 weeks between shows.

Glad we still get some free ones over here, they just aren't worth the money these days.

Too bad the folks in Stamford will never figure out that we don't need a PPV every month. Especially at close to $60 for HD
