At November to Remember 1998, Tommy Dreamer faced Justin Credible in a dream-partner tag-team match, wherein anybody in the wrestling world could be selected as a surprise teammate. Justin Credible selected Jack Victory, who then broke his leg within the first minute of the contest and was subtly replaced by Jason, Justin's manager, while he lay in agony on the apron for the remaining 10 minutes of the contest. (This injury, along with several subsequent sustained beatings by New Jack, would of course lead to Old Jack's storyline wheelchair, utilized on and off throughout the remainder of ECW's history.) Tommy Dreamer in turn arrived at the ring with one Jake “The Snake” Roberts, allowing for the eventual double-DDT finish that had so many years been waiting in the rafters. However, Jake was not the first pick behind the scenes for Tommy's dream partner. In lieu of Terry Funk's heel-turning refusal, the man instead selected as Dreamer's dream was Yokozuna. This was quickly vetoed by the Louisiana State Athletic Commission, as it was after the sumo was released by WWF due to ongoing weight issues. Still, one must ask themselves many questions regarding this once-potential debut. Would Mr. Fuji have been in attendance? Would Credible's head have been crushed beneath a bonsai drop and a broken turnbuckle? Would Nicole Bass have been lowblowed by Yokozuna instead of Jake Roberts? Most importantly, would New Jack still have interfered to further the damage already done to Jack Victory? While these questions may never be answered, one must wonder what sort of butterfly effect this would have had upon today's wrestling world.... My guess? None, whatsoever.
