I'm posting Ryan Clark's article here, in case anyone missed it on the main page or wants to comment on it:

Former WWE superstar Rene Dupree, who held WWE gold as part of “La Resistance” tag team, recently spoke to Slam! Wrestling about the latest chapter in his career, wrestling in Japan and Europe. Dupree had some very harsh things to say about his time in WWE and Vince McMahon in particular.

“I was miserable the last three years I was in WWE, I was miserable, I hated it, because it’s all politics,” Dupree said. You have to kiss ass. In Japan, all you’ve got to do, is you’ve got to work hard, you’ve got to look good, and that’s it. And that’s what wrestling is all about. It’s about the performance. It’s not about how big you are, or how good of a promo you can cut. It’s about if you can deliver in the ring.”

Rene Dupree has dramatically changed his look since we last saw him in WWE. He’s now sporting a goatee and is covered in tattoos on his chest, arms, shoulder and back. (Photo below)

“I’ve always wanted tattoos, ever since I was a little kid. Mind you, when I was 18 and I signed with WWE, and they had a strict policy, ‘Oh no, you can’t have tattoos without permission. Oh no, you can’t do this, you can’t do that.’ Basically, when you sign a contract with WWE, you sell your soul. You can’t take a sh*t without asking their permission. That’s the bottom line, that’s the truth. The hell with that shit. No. Here in Japan, I get a new tattoo, and the boys are like, ‘Oh, sugoi (which means awesome), new tattoo.’”

He also had some choice words for Vince McMahon.

“I don’t care how much money Vince McMahon has, Vince McMahon put my father out of business, for a lot of people. That was a very, very hard time in my life. That is very hard to forgive, very hard to forgive.”

It's a good "hardman" wrestler look. Rather my pro wrestlers look like that than male models.

He looks more like he's drugged out and about to be on COPS than anything.

God, does COPS even exist anymore? I feel old.

Yes, it's still running. Had to look it up, but they have 851 episodes.

No clue, really. Nor do I have any clue what he has to do with Vince McMahon.

Personally I like the tattoo of the set of shelves on his chest.

Maybe this means he can 'stand' on his own. With book ends etc.

"At one time, Grand Prix Wrestling was televised and had major success until World Wrestling Entertainment bought Grand Prix Wrestling from Emile."

I'd say that's it.

I thought it was a window to his heart.

We're probably all wrong and it's some cliche Japanese character for "poofy dog".

Think I'm gonna get a nice armoire tattooed on my chest. This has inspired me. Maybe something like this:

Still weighing my options though.

He looks a little more... marketable without the tats. The inked up look does not suit him well.

I was so surprised when I saw that photo. Dupree has certainly changed. He looks older than he is. I'm glad the guy is happy working in Japan, though. He was pretty alright in the WWE.

Think I'm gonna get a nice armoire tattooed on my chest.

Then you can get a few more tatoos and claim you have 1004. When telling people about all the ink you got, point at it every third time and say "AAAARRRRMOIRE"

slightly off topic, but does he still hold the record of youngest superstar to hold a title? Think he was 19 when he was tag team champion.

Over in AJPW, Rene Dupree is part of a stable called the VooDoo Murders.

Me too, because then I won't have to look at him anymore. Guy was moderately entertaining at the very most. He was okay when he tagged with Kenzo Suzuki but that's about it. He got way more exposure than he ever should have. Now he's another ex-WWE loser who bitches about how he had to kiss their ass because they didn't kiss his. Boo fuckin whoo.

Also...

Who does he think he is, The Undertaker!?

http://botchedspot.com/comics/2010-07-26-undertaker-mccool.jpg

Funny concept, horrible renditions. That looks more like the Clerks cartoon version of Silent Bob than the Undertaker, and that's such an awful McCool that she has to have her name on her tits. Stellar.

I follow Japanese wrestling, so I get to see how much Dupree improved since then. Plus with Kenzo Suzuki back in Japan, wrestling for AJPW and joining VooDoo Murders, there's a possibility that Suzuki and Dupree teaming up again.
