Bill Goldberg

A quick note before I start. I think I've hit most of the major contenders for the top 5-10 wrestlers. I'm going to stop at 33 because school started back up and I'm going to have a lot less time. If there is anyone I've missed let me know. If anyone is interested in taking over let me know.

Goldberg is a 6. His character was one dimensional. His ring work was great, as long as his match didn't get to 2 minutes. But, for whatever reason people loved the guy (myself included). He was intimidating, he made an impact, and he helped WCW when they needed someone. Like I said though, he's a 6, but I'm giving him a 7.

This has probably been asked and answered before but... Why does MVP have a * beside his name?

7. I don't like him, and I didn't then. I'm bumping him up a couple of points because he was huge and did have an impact on the way the Monday Night Wars went. Even then, I'm probably being too charitable.

The guy was mega-hot for a short period of time..... above average in the ring, but below average on the mic..... a solid 7.5, rounded off to an 8

7.the gimmick was good but not great. He couldn't really cut a very good interview either. He gets another point off for essentially ending Bret Hart's career.

The term wrestler is being thrown around pretty loose here.

WOW, people on here giving BILL GOLDBERG 7's and 8's, AND EVEN A 9...

...incredible.

Myself, I give him a 2. He only had like 3 moves, The Spear, The Jackhammer, and a type of Military Press that he turned into a Powerslam.

He was good only in the final moments of a match, when he'd turn it on and he'd hit The Spear followed by The Jackhammer and the crowd would go wild. Other than that, he was garbage. Couldn't actually WRESTLE, and didn't know how to sell.

Did Goldberg ever apologize for that?

I gave him a 4.
The man couldn't wrestle to save his life. He had slightly fewer moves than Hogan and couldn't sell. Couldn't work a mic, no real charisma. He had a look and was pushed to the moon, solely on his (very one-dimensional) gimmick. How he got so over at the time is beyond me. I never liked him.

The only thing I can say, and why I have him a 4 instead of a 1 or 2, is that he may have been WCW's second biggest blow struck in the Monday Night Wars, after the NWO. How the hell he got so big is beyond me, because he was pure ass, but he did get that frickin' big.

I give him a solid 5 because of his 3 moves that he did very well and his impact on the WCW/WWE wars was pretty big... Horrible on the mic, no ring presence and when he made it to WWE, he was horrible... Course that was part due to WWE...

5...

Right place, right time. 7 because he did so much and got so over with so little.

I gave him a 9. Goldberg is one of my all time favorites. He is in my top ten and I personally like alot of his matches. I liked WCW better in 1998 primarily because of him. He couldn't cut great promos which is why I gave him a nine and never thought he was awful in the ring like so many do. He wasn't the most technically sound, but neither is The Miz and everyone for some reason loves him (I don't at all) but Goldberg deserves props for just going out beating the hell out of someone and getting the crowd behind him.

Gave him an 8 nothing was very special about him but he did a good job of squashing guys.

I'd give him a solid 7. Alot of people seem to forget that he became one of the biggest stars in WCW durring the NWO era (refers to backstage too). I think he was a decient big man wrestler doing more than just slams and tackles. I remember him doing back handsprings and some basic submissions like armbars, leg and heel locks. I think he kinda did get a sore deal in WCW. He is a very well spoken and entertaing man without being GOLDBERG. I've always wondered what he could have been as big if he wasn't just a snarling, no-selling, monster... plus I heard he had some Russo-problems (then again who didnt by the end of WCW)

Bill Goldberg was a one trick pony and a flash in the pan. However, he did his trick better than everyone else, and he was the biggest flash in the pan.

I'm gonna give him a 1 because a lot of people seem to have over exaggerated viewpoints on how "good" Goldberg is as a wrestler. When he wasn't squashing jobbers and midcarders for his streak he was only as good as the other person was. Look a guys like Jericho and HBK who could get a solid match out of Hogan or a kitten. They are GREAT wrestlers. Goldberg, however, is not.

If you're giving him Goldberg an 8 for "nothing very special" then I DEMAND you give Barry Horowitz an 11.

I gave him a 7. He was a major player in the Monday Night Wars. Like Jimmy Cones said, his matches were pretty good unless they went over that 2 minute mark.

His ring entrance was awesome, I loved that.

Tpww decided he hadn't been around long enough to get a good rank.

I give Bill a 6. He has very intense and realistic, however he is nowhere near Kurt, Bruno, Shawn, Bret, Taker, or any other "Greats".

Plus he ended Bret's career.

7.

I was a huge mark for him back in WCW, and he certainly knew how to get your attention. He may not be Kurt Angle or Chris Jericho in the ring (or on the mic), but he knew how to get the most out of a squash match, and with the right people he could put on good matches.

Rammsteinmad

Also, like Jordan X said, he had an insane amount of intensity.

6....for the cool intro and 3 moves that he could pull off....was a one hit wonder and WWE failed at trying to re-create the success WCW had with the gimmick. Had no longevity or long term appeal to the business.

I gave him a 4, 1 point for the intro , 1 point for getting the spear over, 2 points for getting punked by Jericho.

He knows MMA so I gave him a 7. If wrestling was real, he would've still kicked ass.

I just realized something...you should do a Gillberg poll...he would instantly beat out Goldberg and skyrocket to the top of the charts!

6. points deducted for being a naff wrestler and mainly wrestle in squash matches which showed a lack of skill.
