View Full Version : All the jokes aside, would you like to see anyone join CM Punk's stable?

Seriously? Do you think there is anyone that can get a rub from joining with Punk, or even give Punk a rub by joining? Are the three guys currently in it enough to keep it going?

I wouldn't mind seeing JTG in it. I'm sorry but seeing someone with his talent dance around like a fucking fool in Fubu doesn't do it for me. R Truth pretty much takes care of that.

With a slightly toned down gimmick fans would be able to see more of his ability and you could eventually turn him face again with a rivalry against Punk

How about Darren Young legitimately joining the SES. He needs a bit of work, but he may do well there.

Darren Young sounds like a good idea. They also need a diva to fill the void now that Serena is gone.

I'd rather have the SES end to be honest, Rey joining would have been interesting but after that feud finished (maybe even during the feud actually) they got really stale. They held off unmasking Punk and Mercury for too long and it won't really help many guys out joining up now.

Otherwise they should convert an upper midcard face, somebody who could be seen as an equal to Punk to change the dynamics and get the crowd interested in the internal bickering. Christian seems like a good choice.

This sounds strangely familiar... where have I heard this suggestion before...?

I would like to see the SES with another diva in their fold. SES with just Punk, Gallows and Mercury is on enough. The best part about SES was Serena surrendering to CM Punk's message and gleefully allowing to get her head shaved and I like the cult like relationship between the two, also Jesus and Mary Magdalene as Striker used to point out. It just made the storyline better. I don't know what diva they would get to join. Maybe Molly Holly if she wanted to wrestle again in WWE as we know that she is willing to shave her head.

<font color=goldenrod>Yeah, Darren Young seems like a good choice.

Outside of WWE, I would like to see see Cliff "Domino" Dompton being brought in. He's really close friends with Punk and Mercury apparently. Him and Mercury are both tag team specialists so they could go for the Tag Titles or something, SD sorely needs teams. Though he would look much less cool bald.</font>

I agree that Darren Young would be a pretty easy choice, although it'd be a bit of an awkward transition as he's currently a sympathetic figure after the Nexus beatdown.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Punk fly solo for a little while. As cool as the SES idea was when it started, it feels like the Big Show feud has killed any momentum the group had. Gallows and Mercury are a joke now, so Punk may be better off just hitting the reset button.

If he's straight edge, isn't that supposed to be a role model for little kids? It is PG of him. It's dumb to have someone who is straight edge be a heel.

In that respect, the feud between (Jeff) Hardy and Punk should have seen that junkie asshole as the heel. Yeah, just TRY to turn "The Charismatic Enabler" heel... the wrestling world would sooner see the return of heel Cena. The beginning of the whole heel turn for Punk was the fact that he chose to cash in his case on Jeff. 14 year old girls everywhere did NOT approve.

Bad example anyway, as Hardy is perma-face in the same way that X-Pac garners perpetual X-Pac heat. Let me try this again:

That would make logical sense in the way that it also meant the Right To Censor should have been faces. It's not the message itself, it's the sanctimonious way Punk presents it that makes them heels. Yeah, it's cool to be straight edge, but he's saying you can't ammount to anything unless you are just like him. Like that one pushy, holier-than-thou Christian you know that judges everyone because they don't go to service every Sunday like they do and feel superior and get preachy because of it. Everybody knows at least one. Even PG kids get sick of that.

But CM Punk is correct in what he says.

Tom Guycott

...right in saying that "Straight Edge means "I'm Better Than You?" ... I don't think so.

Sure, you don't indulge in the vices, say, I may, Mr. Chick Magnet Punk. All power to you. Doesn't mean you get to be a smarmy prick about it. That's what make's him a heel. And a damn good one. It's not about him being right. It's about him rubbing it in everyone's faces.

Are you really not getting that, or are you just messin' around with us?

I'm just messin' around... But I think he needs to turn face and kick the brain out of John Cena.

Wouldn't put it past WWE if they put Tiffany in the group as a form of punishment.

Drew's apparently the golden boy though and I doubt he'd let them do that to his wife as punishment for whooping HIS ass.

I'd rather see the SES dissolve and have Punk go back on his own. The new guys haven't done anything on their own and their entire point is to make Punk look good. That may help them in the short term (Festus dropped a terrible gimmick and Joey Mercury came back to the WWE) but it isn't sustainable. As soon as the SES goes away they're basically back to square one.

I would say Shad, however SES already has the big man when it comes to Festus.

I think a guy like Danielson would work out well. He's legit, could hold his own, and after a while Punk and Danielson could do a spin off stable of indy guys.

the SES has lost a lot of steam, after being taken out in a 3v1 vs. big show and serena leaving i think it may be time for them to call it quits.

The Straight Edge Society should be more like Raven's Flock was in WCW. They need to keep pushing the brain washing and the cult-like fellowship that Punk has created, and even show how dangerous this group has become. What made Raven's Flock so great was that they would interfere in all of his matches and seemingly do anything for their savior. They had weird video promos featuring Raven and the Flock that pushed how weird they were. The SES should be seen as a serious threat - not a group that can't even take down The Big Show in a 3-v-1.

Pretty bored with the SES lately. Kinda looking forward to when Punk goes solo again.

I love CM Punk and Joey Mercury, and I think Luke Gallows is quite good, but I just haven't been feeling their booking lately. We still don't know why Mercury has joined up with Punk. I think they could use some the SES to get some guys without any direction doing something, and from there also gain strength in numbers.

Some possible candidates I've thought about:

Primo Colon
The kid is superbly talented, no doubt about it. He works so much better as a heel, and he's currently not doing much of anything on RAW. You just have Primo pledge himself to Punk out of a fear that he will fall into the same patterns as those close to him to deal with this industry. Punk rewards Primo for his courage in admitting he is human, and of weak will, but they will build him up to be strong.

Primo & Joey Mercury would make an interesting tag team pairing, in my opinion. Mercury is a former three-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and Primo has held two Tag Team Titles in the WWE, and was one-half of the first-ever Unified WWE Tag Team Champions. That tag team specialty could be used to get them both quite over as a unit.

Caylen Croft
This is one for when the tag team scene starts to really get more stable (don't worry, I know it never will). Punk simply gets in Croft's ear about how he is not reaching his true potential. Croft eventually caves in, and goes to join The Straight Edge Society. Young Trent Barreta (and Caylen Croft's best friend and tag team partner) comes out and tries to cut the ceremony short, and tell Punk that The Dudebusters love to party and such. Croft then attacks Barreta, and willing shaves his head to join the Society.

This would mainly be used to show Punk as a manipulative mind-taker, and Croft would become a heel thug with hopefully some credibility from working with a former World Heavyweight Champion. He could even rename him, or something. Barreta would then get a face push against Croft, and eventually get a good showing with Punk himself.

Percy Watson
More so than Darren Young joining, despite his and CM Punk's history, I'd be far more interested in Percy Watson joining. Even though they had similar gimmicks, Watson was just more "fun." He was always more of a pure face, and Young has been involved with Nexus. Young's got stuff he can do on RAW against Barrett and co. Percy Watson could join up with Punk as a way of getting entry to SmackDown!, since he "wasn't good enough to win NXT."

This would be a bit more upsetting to your average fan to see -- the corruption of this pure entity of fun. Plus, Watson's Pro is still on SmackDown!, and MVP could have a few words to say to CM Punk about it...

Danielson would be a great way to go here once his feud with The Miz ends. In addition, that stable would ultimately collapse and I could easily see him and Punk having an epic feud.

Christopher Daniels would work out well.

What about that 6'9" chick that was mentioned in the other thread? Maybe Beth Phoenix? A new member does not have to be a guy.

What if they do someone that Punk is trying to save? A bit of a sympathy angle, with a slightly brutal twist. They see the guy slip up, he gets beaten down in front of the crowd. Someone like Jannetty, a heel Doink...

No, even better. How about someone who is PROUD to be drug free, and better than you? Someone who has NEVER touched any DRUGS EVER!!!!!

I agree with Chris Maters joining the SES, he mades a better heel than face. I would love for the SES to become a larger/ more main event stable. Primo would be a good addition, I think 5 would be a good number for SES.

Punk - leader
Gallows - muscle
Joseph - tag team guy
Chris Masters - muscle/ other tag partner
Jilliam/ other generic diva - distraction

Christopher Daniels would work out well.

This actually seems doable.

CM Punk could introduce him as a person whose "fallen" and in need of a straight edge savior. It would of course lead to a power struggle between Daniels and Punk, and then the aforementioned agreement for the disbandment of S.E.S.
