View Full Version : Have you ever left a theater in the middle of a movie?
Well?
And what movie and why.
I did leave a theater in the winter of 2007. Late night showing of Half Nelson and I don't give a fuck how many awards Ryan Gosling won or was nominated for over that film, I gave it a full hour and I was absolutely depressed and bored out of my mind with everything about the film - the look, the characters, the dialogue, the conflicts. Couldn't stay. Got up and walked out.

Walked out of Casino Royale the first time I saw it.
To go to the bathroom to expel waste. Don't know what happened, perhaps something with the popcorn. I wanted to hold out, but I literally couldn't. Stomach was rebelling big time.

Why would you even walk in to it in the first place?

Hell no. If I'm paying to see a film, I'm staying to watch it til the end.

Walked out of the remakes of both the Producers, and Psycho after half an hour.
Also walked out of Shoot 'em up but everyone else seemed to be enjoying it, and stayed put. I had to quietly walk back to my seat after five minutes stood outside in the lobby waiting for everyone.
I don't have any hesitance about walking out, just like I'd leave half a pint behind if the pub I was in was shitty.

i walked out of the sea inside, but only cause it was a "film tba" thing where basically you go in a screen, they show you an unreleased film entirely at random and ask your opinion at the end, plus if you don't like it you can walk out within the first half hour and get a refund.
was in a grim mood that day and it was a bit heavy for me so i left. that's the one and only time i think.

My thoughts exactly. Take 5 seconds to down it, and be on your way.

I usually like to watch a movie all the way through, whether I'm paying for it or not.
I think the only movie I have ever intentionally turned off (at home) was Talledega Nights.

Chronicles of Narnia. Only because the movie suddenly shut off and the lights came on. Everybody was sitting there wondering what was going on. A couple people left and came back and said we had to evacuate because of a gas leak.
Was close to leaving Exorcist: The Beginning. My friends dragged me to it and luckily, fell asleep. Saved me the trouble of causing a scene and saying this movie sucked.

I've walked out on Jurassic Park 3, the Skeleton Key, and Shooter. Not the worst movies I've ever seen (that would be Ultraviolet), but something about those movies just reall made me hate them.

Me and a friend walked out of Sweeney Todd because we both were a little pissed because we didn't want to watch a musical.

Does this have to do with getting your money's worth?
Went with my buddy once, both shitfaced, we bought tickets went to see the movie and were like "Umm, what movie is it anyway?". Then the movie started and there was this woman screaming in subway and we were like "Fuck, some crazy ass bitch going mental in subway, let's get out of here". It was after about 2 minutes of the movie. Turned out it was Stigmata, a movie I later enjoyed.
never actually walked out. Don't think I ever would, but even if I wanted to I don't think I"d be able to because I'm usually with a group of people.
Movies I really considered it though were Inspector Gadget and The Last Airbender. Generally only watch movies that are supposed to be really good, in theatres.

`Hunt for the Red October, due to illness (Had a serious case of the shits), Encino Man, because it was so fucking awful that even the friends who dragged me to see it wanted to leave.
I rarely go to a movie I'm not already pretty sure I want to see a lot.

I don't think I've walked out but I have fallen asleep. Star Wars Episode II during the second time I saw it and Insomnia.

Pretty ironic.
I fell asleep on the grand premiere of Lord of The Rings. Tickets were mad expensive and I only went cause all my buddies were going and were praising it so much. This movie makes me fall asleep every single time.

I have walked out of 2 movies. Hot Rod and Hostel. Both times because my woman wanted to walk out. She thought hot rod was studpid and hostel was "gross"
I have fallen asleep multiple times in movies, which is embarrassing because I snored so loud apparently everyone turned and laughed. :(

A Cock and Bull Story.
Just fucking hated it. Did not get it at all. Maybe I was still latched on to Coogan as Partridge but me and the missus at the time, left and had sex in a car park adjacent to the cinema. Not mind blowing sex, but a better fuck than the clusterfuck on the big screen at the time.

Got talked into watching Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 by my uncle when it first came out. Absolutely hated the first one, and had no desire what so ever to see the sequel. But he loves him some Rob Zombie, and he was paying. Still would've left halfway through, if he hadn't suggested we stick around, and sneak into District 9 afterwards.

My girlfriend starting playing with my dick in the middle of Spiderman 3, so it was a choice between watching Pete Parker, or using my penner, I chose the latter.
