Hope the 900th Raw episode started that trend. :y:
Lets name the few times this has happened.

I don't mind Cena winning all the time. He is supposed to be the top guy in the company, so it makes sense for him to come out on top in most match ups.

Orton is hotter than Cena right now. Has been for some time.

I agree, Orton is getting some awesome pops.

Yeah and it's not as if he was pinned by Barrett either it was Slater (or was it Gabriel?) of all people can't help but wonder if that in itself could mean something.

Bizzaroking is right. Cena 'overcoming' the odds is acceptable if it's believeable. What we saw at Summerslam was a disgrace.

Exactly. Yes, the superman character is taken a bit too far sometimes, but someone needs to be "the best." Parody isn't something wrestling has been a hallmark of.
Orton is hotter than Cena right now. Has been for some time.
Yup, and Orton was both the last guy hitting his signature a few weeks ago, and was the last guy to go down to the Nexus. I think the 'E is starting to pump up Orton as the top face.
He got squashed by Brock in 2003.

I'd also argue, that Cena didn't have to be the sole survivor. If it ended with him and Bryan victorious, it would have done wonders for a guy who could use the rub.

I enjoy Cena putting over Nexus and all, but in the end Cena is the top guy and he will always win.
Cena winning in the end is just a fact of life.

I think I'm alone on this, but I don't think Cena no sold that concrete. It's not like he jumped up automatically and did the five moves of doom, a good amount of time passed (kayfabe wise) for him to somewhat gather himself. He didnt DROP Gabriel, dude just missed his 450, Cena pinned him and was STILL laid out.
After the concrete, he only did one more move and that was his STF. But like I said, I'm alone on this one I'm sure.

Please allow me to drop you head first on concrete, then we'll see you fight back two minutes later.

The following night on RAW against Black Cena/Daren Young might have been worse than the PPV in terms of selling.
He is basically motionless on the outside while Young is moving around in the ring and suddenly jumps up and into the ring once the ref counted to 9. Then he goes back to being semi-motionless while Young is just standing there "shocked".
What Smelly said.
It's the way he sells his injuries that makes it unbelievable. I mean, we've seen guys come back from worse than DDT's on concrete and almost win or win matches before. Cena is just terrible at it. He goes from dead weight, unconscious, motionless dummy to suddenly completely and totally normal, feeling none of the pains he felt moments ago, and then back to being dead weight. There's no subtlety to his selling.

Yep, exactly. Many different guys at the highest level have unusual or at least irregular ways of selling (e.g. Orton or Undertaker), but the way Cena does it is completely ridiculous.

There's a pretty good point in here, about the selling of injuries. Most wrestlers sell a leg/arm injury at some point - normally for a few weeks that impacts on their matches etc. Bret Hart was the master of this in-match. Jericho, for example, will always sell an injury after the match, even if he's won.
I can't recall a time Cena ever did this. Even during a match. Like limping around, unable to lift someone up for the FU, or lock in the SFHL.
He got squashed by Brock in 2003.
How was it a squash exactly? Did you watch the match?
The whole build up to Brock vs Cena was incredible. Cena won match after match until he qualified to face Brock, and all this time he showed no fear to Brock like 90% of the roster did. They worked a good match where at some points I actually thought Cena had a chance at winning. This was when Brock was pretty much being booked as unbeatable.
Miss the old heel Cena so much. This was around the time I got his autogrph :o. Can't imagine how long the line to see him would be now, heh.
also,
Yo, People think I'm crazy. That's what everyone is telling me.
That me beating you, is like you winning a spelling bee.
That's okay because tonight I silence them all.
You're a neanderthal. So I'll use words that are small.
"Big Brock Lesnar. Here comes the pain.
God build me strong, Forgot to give me brain."
You hop around all day like there's potatoes in your crack.
That's a nice tattoo you have, of your mother on your back.
Yo I'm untouchable you can't beat my ability.
I'm like a basic math problem Brock, you just can't finish me.
He got squashed by Brock in 2003.
ugh your post is making me SO MAD
that was like one of the last good things that happened before I stopped watching WWE regularly.
it was a nice, legit feud, not a fucking squash, you god damn idiot.

Kind of starting to get peeved at Wade Barrett being the new "Cena". Defeating Jericho cleanly, squashing the Undertaker and being the sole survivor in that 5 vs 5 match on Raw to list a few examples. At least he is a heel though and is supposed to garner this reaction from me.

Orton will never be pushed as the top face in the PG era because of his past history and attitude.

This. If he hadn't killed himself, and he thought there was money to be made from it: He'd bring out Benoit from time to time.
I mean shit, he still brings out one murderer from time to time.
