View Full Version : Please tell me this is not a foreshadow of things to come...

In an interview with Moviefone.com to promote his new movie "Legendary," RAW superstar John Cena commented on a potential showdown with The Undertaker at WrestleMania next year. Moviefone asked Cena in an interview, "What's the next challenge for you: winning an Oscar or trying to end the Undertaker's undefeated WrestleMania streak?" Cena said he wants to challenge the Undertaker at WrestleMania and be the man to end the infamous streak.

If Cena ends the streak, WWE will officially die. That's my opinion but what is yours?

This is not a foreshadowing of things to come.

Cena just has to say something like that in response to that sort of question.

Who else? I don't think it will end, if it does its Cena, bottom line.

Cena's not going to say "The Undertaker's streak will never be broken, and I don't stand a chance."

He's going to talk it up, because he's part of a business that revolves largely around hype.

So don't slit your wrists just yet.

Cena is the last threat that will be able to come along in the next 3 years or so, within which time Taker's retiring.

Ending the streak is a no-go, but a Cena vs Taker match at Mania, as far as I'm concerned, needs to happen.

They fed him a no-win question. If he says "Win an Oscar" then he's a sell-out to wrestling fans. If he says "Beat the Taker", the internet screams.

Also, shouldn't beating Taker at WM be up there with being Champion as something that a wrestler would strive for???

If Cena wins we riot. At least I do. Pretty sure I could amass an army of disgruntled fans to battle the Cenation, and destroy it once and for all.

It was a loaded question. I doubt Taker would go for that anyways. He'd probably choose the Miz (let's hope not) before he chose Cena since Cena's already an established star and Miz could take that win and run with it.

BUT... Would your opinions change if it was a HEEL Cena that ended the streak?

Heel Cena,Face Cena, straight Cena,Gay Cena, doesn't matter. He beats the Taker I'm going to Stamford to set things right. If Taker beats everyone, and Cena beats Taker, then they'll try to make Cena better then everyone ever...and that cannot happen.

I could see the crowd mimic what occurred during Hogan vs The Rock where everyone booed The Rock even though he was a face and star of the WWF while Hogan was cheered even though he was with WCW during the Monday Night War and a heel.

The crowd probably turns on Cena to boo him at his attempt to break the streak since Wrestlemania crowds tend to be more active than a normal RAW audience/pro-Cena audience.

I just can't stand Cena's double shoulder block, dodge punch to that modified atomic drop he does, then the stupid hand raise to the you cant see me to the five knuckle shuffle.

Everytime I see that sequence I cringe. Taker is worth more then that.

The two people I would allow to end Taker's streak....is Kane(makes the most sense).....or.....HHH(just because). Just because they have been there so long and it would seem legitimate.

I would think that would be the perfect time to turn Cena heel, do to some underhanded shit to beat Taker at Mania. It would be cheap, dirty and brilliant.

If Vince tells taker at Mania to lose to Cena, If I'm Taker, I pull a Teddy Hart on them.

Honestly I dont want the streak to end. I want him to retire as the only man to go WHATEVER and 0 at wrestlemania

Exactly, which by pulling a Teddy Hart it would mean he'd stay WHATERVER and 0. :y:

John Cena defeating the Undertaker at Wrestlemania would be an excellent decision. It would help cement Cena's reputation as a legendary superstar, and this is important since Cena is the #1 guy in the company.

Too bad Cena has been the #1 guy for 5 years, which is longer than Austin's run on top.

To be honest, if anyone had to end it in the next 2 or 3 years, I would say Cena. I'm not a huge fan of his, but he's been around long enough, and proven he's not going to 'Brock Lesnar' them.

I think a WM feud between these two would be big for sure, either way.

Lets face it, you'd have all the overly smarky Cena haters booing him and the possibility of him ending the streak, and then you have WWE's core audience cheering the hell out of him.

WWE's golden boy vs WWE's corner stone. It has money all over it. And like Xero said, it's something that needs to happen before Taker calls it a day.

I'm all for a UT/Cena match. Cena can wrestle when the situation calls for it.

But the streak should remain intact.

But the thing is it should be given to a younger superstar who's about to rise to the main event. This would solidfy their status. Cena has already been made as a legendary superstar as it is.

It's debatable alone whether or not it would be the best to do this. I mean, do you give it to an older guy, who will give the story some steam, and the match everything it needs. Or do you give it to the lesser experienced younger guy, who may not be able to follow what Taker did with HBK?

All this aside, I don't see WWE doing this with a newer talent, because of what happened to Brock Lesnar. They pretty much fed him everyone. From Taker, to Big Show, to The Hardy's in handicap matches. Then the guy just decided that the WWE wasn't for him. The won't be putting all their eggs in one basket like that again soon, and that goes for giving away the Undertakers streak I'd say.

Too bad Cena has been the #1 guy for 5 years, which is longer than Austin's run on top.

It's smart business. The WWE's target audience are children and John Cena's character is tailor made for children. It is in the WWE's best interests to have Cena win almost all of his matches. Cena defeating Undertaker at Wrestlemania would be the correct business decision.

I say have Cena call out the Cena Clones again. They can gang rape Taker giving Cena the win and a heel turn.

no way.

if vince thinks cena's fans are crazed, wait till he sees taker's fans revolt.
taker can beat cena, but then shake his hand afterward. we know that's a way taker shows his respect to another wrestler.

but i agree...
if cena wins we riot!!!
