I didn't think I would because Reroute to Remain was disappointing for me.. but it's actually a lot better then I expected.

I mean, yeah it is very "mainstream" and I guess "overproduced" but it's still a good album in my opinion, even if the song titles are retarded..

Anyway, give it a chance if you haven't.

What's the title?

Soundtrack To Your Escape.

<font color=969696>Every song on it is terrible except for In Search For I.

In Search For I is an awesome song. It's a bitchslap to their old fans. They're basically saying "Yes, we can still write decent material, but why concern ourselves with songwriting when a few simple chords and techno effects will get us more fame?"</font>

There is some techno action in that song also. :p

I'm DLing it right now just to see what it is all about.

The Quiet Place video is hilarious because Anders tries to look all dramatic and tortured, but his dumb ugly face just makes it LOL.

He has a goatee now.

I agree, he looks like a goof.. but it doesn't matter when you are just hearing them, not seeing them. :p

<font color=969696>The title is ironic, too. "In Search For I"... they're looking for the real In Flames... the one that wrote great <b>METAL</b> songs.

All hope is lost for them. I'm really looking forward to the new Dark Tranquillity album, though.</font>

Yeah, there are some goofy looking fu</>ckers who make some great music.

Yeah but I saw them live (they put on a grrrrreat show, no matter what material they play), but I was too busy headbanging and moshing with DegenerationY to look at his face. Plus they had a shitload of strobe going on. Behind Space is the man live.

I just can't take him seriously when he tries to take the nu-metal whiny approach in videos. In Cloud Connected, it looks like he is baldly too, which makes the video comedic.

Not all metal frontmen can be as hot as Alexi Laiho or as badass as Chuck Billy. :shifty:

Speaking of Dark Tranquillity, when is their new album expected? I haven't seen anything on Blabbermouth lately.

Hot. I hope they have a North American tour in the fall.

In other metal related news, why are their always 492083290 summer festivals that blow Ozzfest out of the water in Europe? :'(

Oh.

My.

God.

Tell me they didn't just rip off a Papa Roach song on track 2. :|

<font color=969696>Well, you DID read my review of the album, did you not?

Just download In Search For I and forget about the rest.</font>

<font color=969696>Live Damage is awesome. Dark Tranquillity is the only melodic death metal band that has changed their sound to something awesome while incorporating electronics.</font>

Wow. They're really milking those two chords. :|

<font color=969696>I wish my opinion mattered, but I'm just a pissed off metal kid who can't appreciate a band who progresses musically. I'm closed minded for not accepting the change. I'm closed minded for wanting another album that uses their songwriting potential to its maximum. I was banned from the unofficial In Flames forum and had my thread deleted for displaying my dissatisfaction with the new album.</font>

Yeah, don't you know? Ripping of Korn and Papa Roach is PROGESSIVE!

<font color=969696>New In Flames sounds nothing like Korn. They are still metal. You sound just like every other metal elitist asshole by calling them nu-metal. You're a ******. Why can't you just accept the change? If every album sounded like Jester Race, they would suck.</font>

<font color=969696>PS - Ignore bands like AC/DC, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, Dio, King Diamond, Marduk, Motorhead, Stratovarius, and Vader who are notorious for releasing material with the same sound for years.</font>

I love sycophants who think that nothing a band does can be wrong.

Kane Knight

You know, I'd be impressed by some of this...

You know, if it were some Nu Metal band.

Thinking about In Flames of yesterday, and considering I was even into RTR somewhat, this is a horrendous letdown overall.

I actually prefer what I've heard off the new one to most of Reroute to Remain, which I found insanely boring. That said, definately a band who've passed their peak quality wise.

It hurts to think
Can't get the sums together
Would you draw my bitterness
Make the pictures fade

Could it be that I see
What's beneath when we fall
The truth in ever
I'm scared that I'll be

Will time open my vault
New solution, I'm begging
Break the fuse that holds me back

The I is lost in me
But I'm ready to give you
The m, it might even be the e
As I begin to search for I

Distract, push me in another direction
This wall that I stare into
It's getting old
Give me faith to reach for the new
Pull me apart and do me all over
I'll need a re-make
To make up for my mistakes

What if I stop to care?
What if I let you fall?

It's true. :'(
